There are a lot of gun deaths in the U.S., and a lot more shootings. The thing is 95% of them are committed by criminals with illegal firearms. Targeting lawful gun owners with more restrictions solves nothing. Make all the laws you want, a gangbanger in Chicago won't even notice.
Gun deaths isn’t the same as gun murders. A LOT of gun deaths are suicides, you have to differentiate between the two if you’re trying to make a point one way or the other.
I just think it's disingenuous to pretend we don't have a gun violence problem in this country. We do. We have a ton of needless shootings in the inner cities. Most people who get shot survive, which is a testament to our health care. But the media only ever talks about mass shootings, which make up a tiny percentage of the whole., and they won't even mention the vast majority that happen in inner cities. Gun legislation does nothing to stop criminals who don't give a fuck about the law, and possess illegal weapons.
It’s not a gun violence problem, it’s a violent people problem, buddy.
Inner cities are violent for a reason, and it’s not the guns making them murderous.
I agree 1 hundo. The problem is they use those shootings to try to enact gun control and increase police powers. They have absolutely no desire to actually end gun violence. But they will never break down the numbers between the small amount of legal firearm homicides and the much larger amount of illegal gun homicides. They just say we have a lot of shootings and blame the NRA. But you're right it is a societal problem and not a gun problem. The destruction of the black family unit and the socialist welfare state of the inner cities is the actual problem.
