I love it how the media give Texas a free ride for being a GOP state. Member how Rick Perry got all the media glory for epitomizing GOP principals after they just got through raising spending by 26%? How y'all liking all those toll roads?
We get state parks, abortions, "retail to go," and soviet style central planning committees and Texas and Abbott get atta boy's from the media all over the country?
My retail business is in Plano. I’ve heard it is the only city in the state (maybe US) to have 3 toll roads as it’s main arteries. They have you by the balls. Either pay ten bucks in tolls, or the same in gas and time, sitting at red lights.
Texas is amazing, but the cities are feeling less and less like they used to.
Try living In Denton County and owning businesses in Garland, Dallas and Plano. With toll tag, I was still using 121, DNT, and PGB daily. Usually about $12-15 per day and I work six days a week. Trying to take Spring Creek across the city or Midway if heading south was an exercise in futility.
I guess the bright side of the societal shutdown is that I only lost two of those locations and if the last survives, it might only be Chapter 11 bankruptcy and not Chapter 7.
The Libertarians suggest ALL roads be toll roads. I mean, I guess someone has to pay for it, but the current way feels free. Wow... that sounded very socialist of me. I need a shower.
