Oh hell noooooo............

This globalist POS has taken her mask off and revealed herself.

NOTHING short of being removed from office will suffice.

Don't forget, she can continue her agenda in silence, behind closed doors.

SHE'S GOTTA GO !!!!!!

FuckChinaRaw 163 points ago +163 / -0

This article is an extremely bad take. She didn't say she would reopen at all. She said:

"I do hope to have some relaxing come May 1, but it's two weeks away and the information and the data and our ability to test is changing so rapidly, it's hard to tell you precisely where we'll be in a week from now, much less two,"

This isn't over.

It low tier facebook garbage meant to placate the boomers so they wont go out and vote against her.

44
FuckChinaRaw 44 points ago +45 / -1

She won in 2018 because legalization was on the ballot, and her opponent was Bill Schutte, who did everything he could to shut down medical marijuana while he was AG for 8 years. The 2020 electoral makeup will be much different. This situation is probably the nail in the coffin.

41
K-Harbour 41 points ago +41 / -0

When will Republicans like Schutte realize that the non-liberal face of the country embraces more libertarian values than they ever did?

16
ChokingOnARedpill 16 points ago +16 / -0

This point needs to be made more. The american libertarian midset is stronger now than its been since before the Civil War. It just takes time for that to reflect in our countries politics. Not saying there isn't a fight to still be had and we must remain vigilante, but the zeitgeist of our times is liberty.

I moved out of MI 10 years ago but would have voted for her for that reason too. I’m tired of Republicans pretending to be for limited government until it comes to my rights to enjoy cannabis recreationally.

15
Psilocybik 15 points ago +15 / -0

It's sad that the only card Dems have left is pot legalization, and Republicans STILL refuse to get with the program. I wish Trump would make it federally legal so that Dems can't campaign on it.

11
DJTrump2020 11 points ago +11 / -0

Trump can't make it federally legal, only Congress can do that; what Trump could do is change its DEA schedule so that it isn't enforced as strongly but let's be real, the DEA isn't out there busting people with personal sized amounts, and that would just be a temporary fix that could potentially be undone by some future president. Trump has said he feels that it's a states rights issue and he'll support any moves towards decriminilization or legalization (not the same thing) but it has to come from the states.

Well, the possibility of me being out into jail for smoking it is also there, so who is actually providing more freedom in this case? The Rs have fallen far short in this area and have lost the young people’s vote because of it.

I moved to Virginia from Washington and now I always smell weed everywhere I go too, but it's because of skunks that got run over. BTW, you sound like an extreme square, most people only refer to hard drugs like meth or heroin as dope and there's actually a theory why: those drugs affect your dopamine levels, hence "dope" while marijuana mainly effects your serotonin levels. The worst thing that's likely to happen from people smoking weed and driving is you might get stuck behind someone waiting for the stop sign to turn green.

That happens to me all the time when I'm driving sober, especially if it's a route I drive frequently like to and from work; I just zone out and go on autopilot. There's definitely such a thing as "too stoned to drive", but it's not a zero tolerance thing, more like "if you're so high that your anxiety is ratcheted up and you're swerving around in your lane because you're trying so hard not to because you're worried people will think you've been drinking then probably don't drive".

4
2016TrumpMAGA 4 points ago +4 / -0

Knock off the boomer shit. With the exception of the geriatric hippies, the boomers I know hate this quarantine, and are pissed. It wasn't the boomer demographic that put this cunt into power. The boomer hate was something ginned up by the Hillary crowd in anticipation of her winning in 2016 and drastically cutting back benefits to seniors to fund her commie utopia. Don't be a stooge for the commies.

EDIT: Poling two days before the election had Whitless 51% to 37% among 18 to 35 year olds, and 57% to 30% among the 18-29 crowd. It would be fair to say the election probably broke pretty close to this.

Here on the left coast, Ashland, Oregon, home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, saw the OSF announce that it would shut down it's season and resume in fall, when most people aren't traveling in the rains. The entire town revolves around that, hotels, restaurants, tourist traps, pubs, everything, gone. Santa Cruz CA announced that the Boardwalk (amusement park) would be closed this summer. Ditto. There were a total of two deaths of senior, underlying condition people in Santa Cruz. There are going to be a lot of dirt cheap businesses for China to buy.

The state legislature refused to extend her emergency powers a couple of weeks ago. She wanted 70 days, they gave her 23, which takes us to May 1. She had no legal choice.

10
christianknight 10 points ago +10 / -0

Next step: Take over the state legislature.

7
NotInFormation 7 points ago +7 / -0

We have it. Next step: revise MCL 10.31 to ensure the governor is limited by law and state congressional oversight.

10.31 Proclamation of state of emergency; promulgation of orders, rules, and regulations; seizure of firearms, ammunition, or other weapons. Sec. 1.

(1) During times of great public crisis, disaster, rioting, catastrophe, or similar public emergency within the state, or reasonable apprehension of immediate danger of a public emergency of that kind, when public safety is imperiled, either upon application of the mayor of a city, sheriff of a county, or the commissioner of the Michigan state police or upon his or her own volition, the governor may proclaim a state of emergency and designate the area involved. After making the proclamation or declaration, the governor may promulgate reasonable orders, rules, and regulations as he or she considers necessary to protect life and property or to bring the emergency situation within the affected area under control. Those orders, rules, and regulations may include, but are not limited to, providing for the control of traffic, including public and private transportation, within the area or any section of the area; designation of specific zones within the area in which occupancy and use of buildings and ingress and egress of persons and vehicles may be prohibited or regulated; control of places of amusement and assembly and of persons on public streets and thoroughfares; establishment of a curfew; control of the sale, transportation, and use of alcoholic beverages and liquors; and control of the storage, use, and transportation of explosives or inflammable materials or liquids deemed to be dangerous to public safety. (2) The orders, rules, and regulations promulgated under subsection (1) are effective from the date and in the manner prescribed in the orders, rules, and regulations and shall be made public as provided in the orders, rules, and regulations. The orders, rules, and regulations may be amended, modified, or rescinded, in the manner in which they were promulgated, from time to time by the governor during the pendency of the emergency, but shall cease to be in effect upon declaration by the governor that the emergency no longer exists. (3) Subsection (1) does not authorize the seizure, taking, or confiscation of lawfully possessed firearms, ammunition, or other weapons.

History: 1945, Act 302, Imd. Eff. May 25, 1945 ;-- CL 1948, 10.31 ;-- Am. 2006, Act 546, Imd. Eff. Dec. 29, 2006

There is a recall petition out there with over 225.000 signatures on it. They should let it run it's course. Once a dictator always a dictator. She will pull as much power hungry crap as she can when no one is looking if left in office.

19
Gyrfalcon 19 points ago +20 / -1

If you are referring to the change.org petition, It's meaningless. We need a real recall petition.

17
CousinEddie 17 points ago +18 / -1

Yup, those are black holes purposely setup to divert energy into nothing.

It’s like putting the bug zapper at the edge of your property. Draw all the pests over there and away from the home. If they’re out there they won’t bother you

4

3
christianknight 3 points ago +4 / -1

Its called citizen arrest.

3
K-Harbour 3 points ago +4 / -1

Correct. That recall petition almost seems to be a controlled opposition petition to block launching a real, legitimate petition.

PLUS — someone now has a very valuable list of 225,000 revolutionaries.

A real recall petition (that the two so-called conservative groups should have launched) follows simple rules, found at:

https://ballotpedia.org/Laws_governing_recall_in_Michigan

9
residue69 9 points ago +10 / -1

A change.org petition doesn't mean shit. I don't care how many signed it.

You have to put boots on the ground, file a recall with the appropriate board, get it approved and then get the required number of clear and valid signatures in 60 days.

A recall petition must first be filed with the appropriate board, which then holds a hearing to determine whether the reason for the petition is "factual" and "clear;" that is the only criteria considered by the board to approve or reject the petition.

A "clarity and factual" hearing is the first step in the recall process. Michigan laws state that the reason for petition must be deemed "factual" and "clear" before the recall petition can be placed in circulation.

20
Tonightm01 20 points ago +20 / -0

What does "reopen" actually mean?

Because if everything from restaurants to model stores isn't allowed to reopen. Then the state hasn't reopened.

The economy is like a chain and the tourism and catering industry employs a lot of unskilled workers. If you take the summer trade away from them. That industry is going to be crippled until mid next year.

This means those people are not buying new cars. New houses. New anything until late next year when saving are rebuilt.

4
themightykekfish 4 points ago +4 / -0

It means dusting ourselves off and getting to work thats what it means.

2
Kelemor88 2 points ago +2 / -0

It will prolly be a weekly opening of certain things. A lot things will still be closed until June. In my opinion. You see this flight of things open. Wait a week see if cases jump. Open the next flight of things and rinse and repeat.

I just hope the allow restaurants to open early even if it’s only at 25% of capacity in the beginning.

4
stvrap79 4 points ago +4 / -0

Wait a week see if cases jump.

And that’s the problem. We all know they are going play with the statistics to make things seem a certain way so they can keep shit closed. They are gonna ramp up testing just to they can give the illusion that the virus hasn’t peaked. When we look at actual meaningful stats, like death rate per 100K people, it is obvious that we we have done better than almost any other country. You rarely hear Dr. Fauci and the media tell us these statistics tho.

3
TheThreeSeashells 3 points ago +3 / -0

We also never hear statistics regarding people who've recovered or people who were confirmed to have it and only suffered mild symptoms. The media and Dems have the Karens convinced that if they step out of their house and someone makes eye contact with them, they and their entirely family have signed their death certificate.
