I’m a nurse in Nashville and people always ask me about how bad the hospital is here. I always tell them it’s quiet and empty. We have far less patients in the hospital now then we did pre COVID. And a lot of people are losing hours and getting called off from work. When they ask me how that’s possible I tell them that we don’t have a subway or train system to spread it like New York does.
As an engineer for the MTA and the NY airports I have to work and ride the subway daily out of Manhattan. I observe gaggles of homeless people who have literally taken up residence on the train and the platforms.
