There’s been some rumors out there about NY Presbyterian Columbia refusing to transfer ICU patients to underused hospitals such as Sloan Memorial even though Columbia is “overwhelmed”.
They won’t transfer them because they want the reimbursement from the feds. And that’s also probably why the Navy ship and the Javits center are unused.

I wonder how many "diagnoses" have more to do with medical billing and cash flow than medicine?
I wonder how many patients had hydroxychloroquine withheld from them till they required the ICU so hospitals could get $39,000 instead of only $13,000.
