I think people are pointing the proverbial finger at the media for their inconsistent and hypocritical lack of inquiry, curiosity or coverage.

Blasey-Ford's and Reade's cases and accusations are completely different.

The only thing Blasey-Ford claimed to remember was that a (likely) FIFTEEN y.o. Kavanaugh, about 40 years in the past, threw her on a bed, covered her mouth with his hand, and supposedly TRIED to pull her swimming suit strap down, then she escaped.

Blasey-Ford didn't know: WHEN the event she claimed to have taken place happened (not even sure about the year and thinks it was in the summer because it was a "pool party"); WHERE it happened (whose house it was or where the house was located): HOW she got to the unknown house or HOW she got back home after supposedly being "assaulted" and running away.

Besides all the details that she doesn't remember, the people whom she claimed were at the "party" with her (even her best female friend, who'd remember if her friend had suddenly disappeared from a small gathering and left her alone with 3 or 4 boys) don't remember such party having ever happened, she never told this story about Kavanaugh before he was appointed for the SC, and Blasey-Ford was caught on several lies, including about having to drive from CA to DC because she is afraid of flying (not true), and about having a second door installed in her house because of the "trauma" Kavanaugh caused her makes her need to know she can easily escape of any room (not true, and ridiculous, considering what she said happened).

Tara Reade's story is 27 years old, which is not 40, but is a long time, but it's about a fully grown MAN, husband, father, and Senator who should know better (not a 15 y.o. boy), when the event she describes supposedly happened. Tara didn't immediately report ALL details of the assault, but she says that she followed protocol & did report "sexual harassment" to her immediate superior (which went nowhere). She called her mom immediately after the assault happened, she told her brother and she told a friend. She knows it happened in 1993 and remembers many details, from the day she first met Biden, while being interviewed for the job as a member of his staff, until the day he seriously sexually assaulted her - and she also remembers other episodes of sexual harassment or inappropriate behavior by Biden before the day he seriously sexually assaulted her, as well as she remember details of the situation after he assaulted her.

Another difference is that Tara Reade is a lifelong DemocRAT who thinks Obama was a "great president." Even in case she preferred another DemocRAT to be the DNC nominee, she is certainly NOT a Trump fan and is NOT trying to help Trump. On the other hand, Blasey-Ford is a leftist activist who didn't want Kavanaugh, a Trump nominee, in the SC.

On top of the partisan reason not to go public before, this sexual assault supposedly happened to Tara Reade (a low-level staffer without any power, but who had aspirations to follow career and some day run for office) in a workplace scenario, at a time when women were supposed to feel flattered by real sexual harassment (not just flattering, respectful compliments, or a respectful invitation for coffee or dinner by a single colleague), and Biden was a powerful senator who could blacklist her in the world of DemocRAT politics.

In Blasey-Ford's case, they were teenagers, and Kavanaugh had no power over her. There was no reason for her to be afraid of telling her mom or telling a friend what he supposedly did to her, which even according to her, ended up being really nothing. Just the fact that, in that fake child's voice, Blasey-Ford claimed to still be traumatized by those 5 or 10 minutes, 40 years in the past, in which, amid not remembering any other detail whatsoever, she CLAIMS Kavanaugh had her pinned down on the bed (but nothing really happened), is absolutely ridiculous. I get very irritated when people call her (and other women with similarly "nothing stories") a "survivor". What the hell did she "survive," if she was never in danger and wasn't even really sexually assaulted? Survivors are women who were violently raped, injured, threatened with knives, guns, or any kind of violence, kidnapped, tortured, etc.

I don't know for sure that Reade's allegations are true, but she sounds convincing and she is a DemocRAT who has no partisan reason to want to expose Biden. Besides that, she had told people about the regular sexual harassment and the serious assault by Biden, and we KNOW that Biden takes liberties with women even in public, and molests children even in public too. Kavanaugh, on the other hand, lead an exemplary life, and the other DemocRAT women who told stories about his college years were debunked.
