Panicked people don't think clearly. They're already built themselves echo-chambers that just hype the panic. The groupthink plays whack-a-mole on absolutely anyone daring to fail to 100% oppose The Donald. So Donald plays them like a fiddle simply picking out a position fiercely enough they have to oppose it - and they do. "Squirrel!'
