Seemed like there were IMMEMDIATE commercials, ready to roll, about staying home/safe, and not leaving - ever. Struck me as very very quick and they all have the same message - not matter which one - 'we're all in this together; stay in your home; together'
One thing that will never describe me properly is "good little citizen". Compliance to tyranny is about the most un-American thing I could possibly think of anyone living here could do.
There are multiple billboards across my town and at the entrances and exits about social distancing even the community college is pressing online United.
That was a fast move and the messaging is meant to normalize this bullshit. NOPE!
My initial thought when seeing the one leaving town, PRE FU*KING PLANNED.
I worked on a team in HS that worked on PSAs for HS kids, that shit takes time and approvals and reworks. No way on 30-days installed and live. Esp not with .edu’s
I don't even turn on the radio. Having for a long time. If anything, I'll throw on KSFO on iHeartRadio for the conservative talk, or the Dan bongino podcast.
Even local business ads are getting in on corona-signalling.
We've gotten to where we just mute the TV during commercials. Especially so we don't have to hear for the umpteenth time about Joe Namath getting all the benefits he apparently deserves.
The only commercial I've seen about this that I liked was the one with Melania. At the end she said "Talk with your kids, teach them that this will end."
All these other commercials and social media posts about #stayhome piss me off. Some of us can't stay home. We live in rural areas and have to go out to get groceries, we can't have them delivered, or have to work or whatever

My girl thinks the advertisement campaign was planned well in advance. I think she's right.

I haven't stayed home at all. I feel fine.
same here.
Same here.
It's not just TV. It's the radio too.
Commercials used to annoy me. Now I have to leave the radio off so I don't get tempted to punch the radio.

The correct verbiage from 1984 is "boot to the face," not boot on the back of your neck.
That comes after. Once everybody complies with the "new normal"
Ah! The reward for good behavior

Fear mongering and wanting your stimulus cash.
