Correlation is not the same as causation (see Louisiana).
The study proved causation. It was a controlled study. The only difference was temperature.

Also they did not control for people staying indoors versus outdoors and they did not control for vitamin D deficiency. “Causation” was not proven. Only correlation.
The study involved guinea pigs. They weren’t “indoors”. It definitely proves causation. The fact that people in air conditioned environments can still get it only further re-enforces the causal factor (lower temps).
