Agree, this is neither the end of the world as we know it nor is it fake. I know people in healthcare and apparently the Xrays even of those who recover are pretty gnarly. This is only those severe enough to get treated. It is not just long term death, but also long term damage for those who survive. It appears that viral load is very important so if we can be clean enough to be exposed to just a little our bodies can fight it off and get strong. Staged reopening makes total sense and my state never closed completely, but started distancing earlier and we are doing very well. We are also opening.
I think some governors took it way too far (can't buy seeds?) and are reaping the social unrest that came with their poor decision. Unfortunately, social unrest itself spreads like a virus and has hit other states like Texas that has been far more reasonable. Staged re-opening is absolutely the way to go.
Yes, they created a pressure that had to escape. Many states have gone too far. I watch the Dark Horse podcasts for reasonable analysis of the biology of Covid. They are two leftist progressives and clearly see the extreme illogic to many measures like keeping people out of nature. Texas was more restrictive than here in Utah, I was kind of surprised.
