There is NO LAW that says 6 foot is a law or masks are a law -- nor is there an order of quarantine -- which means every arrest for protesting would be a civil rights violation and CHA CHING

Frankly, arrest is a best case scenario

This. Absolutely this. After arrest:

  1. Don’t say anything except for your desire to contact a lawyer

  2. Have said lawyer tell the police dept. to explain exactly what law was violated

  3. If they can’t do that (and they can’t), sue the department for wrongful arrest, the arresting officer(s) specifically for harassment, and government officials for creating the directives - the color of law clause would definitely apply here. Bonus round: if you’re not white, say they did it for racist reasons

  4. If you lose the case, appeal it up to SCOTUS if needed

  5. ???

  6. profit precedent is set that police cannot enforce anything that’s not an actual law passed a legislative body

There are lawyers salivating right now to get these cases.
