The Hebrew calendar is also lunar, but they realized that the seasons would shift relative to the calendar if they didn’t adjust anything, so every few years they repeat one of the months. The Arabs used to do the same thing, until some caravan robber / sex addict who was convinced by his wife that he’s actually a prophet couldn’t figure that out and basically said “fuck it, a year is twelve months of 29-30 days each”
So each year they fall behind a couple weeks, and never account for it? Must suck when farmers miss their planting dates each year. Or does that not matter in the desert?
Agreed, but It is only 5 days away and should be scrutinized at a state level. I'm going be pissed off if anyone posts a gathering at a Mosque in North Dakota which is still a free state.

Silver lining: we'll see less people killed during Ramadan Bombathon this year since there will be less people clustered in small spaces.
