I keep hearing it from the media as if it's their last chance to avoid reopening the economy.

'Ignore those reports about millions of people already having antibodies! It doesn't mean you're immune! Be scared! Let us keep control!!'

But if antibodies don't mean anything then waiting for a vaccine is pointless.

I mean it is possible, antibodies fail to fully develop when a virus burns out instead of being fought off by antibodies. Which appears to be what's happening with the reinfection rates in studies of this monster.

From what I've seen there's no evidence of reinfection over simple relapses due to what you are saying; people need time to create the antibodies.
