I genuinely do not like our chances to win this thing, and Trump's popularity has nothing to do with it. We are now being told that we are years away from life returning to normal. Going to sporting events, concerts, restaurants, social gatherings, are things of the past. That's what we're being told. Less than two months ago, it was "15 days to stop the spread."
It's taken a matter of mere weeks for the narrative to morph into what essentially amounts to "The world as we knew it is gone. Your lives as you knew them are over. The only way forward is to adapt to this new world."
I wouldn’t worry. When other people are working and going about life as normal, do you really think people are going to be scared of nipples Cuomo or Gretchen Whitless? They are going to do a 180 like Joe Biden did when he said he would’ve closed the boards sooner after calling Trump xenophobic for closing them down. Doesn't really matter if people refuse to be kept at home. If the government refuses to allow in person voting, or allows insecure mail-in voting, nothing short of armed rebellion will stop them.
We have to make sure this is a fair election. 1776 if we must. A much easier battle is to physically remove all these mass murdering Governors from Office, all on the same day. Citizen's arrest is perfectly legal if we're stopping a felony in progress. How many Governors are innocent of that? The gains from this would be enormous, and the losses low. It's our best chance. No advantage to waiting.
I assert there is 0 potential to starting a Civil War with the immediate idea. Nobody on the other side is willing to get off the couch, which is part of the genius of it. Nobody's all that thrilled with a Governor, either. (With exceptions for certain States that are doing much better) Neither would we encounter serious resistance from any government entity.
Now if we miss this opportunity and wait til November which would be our next juncture? Then I share your concern that we'd find serious resistance. Not fierce, but serious. We'd also be on shaky legal ground. We know they plan on stealing the election via fraud. They've done it already, all over the Country. I disagree that tackling it then would "end the country," even if the population were reduced to 160 million. I doubt we could get enough participation, because there are so many locations to bring fraudulent ballots to.
What will end the Country is if we do nothing. Globalist's plans have been in place since 1913 to do exactly that, and it was always exactly what is happening now, by some means: bring the US population to our knees economically and get us to forfeit everything the Nation ever stood for in exchange for some gibs.
How far away from that are we now? What is happening to the ratio of national debt to gdp every month we stay locked down? This is our rare moment in history when the right thing to do is also the easiest, most likely to bring lasting success, and has the least cost. If we don't take it the US ceases to exist and we're all turned into serfs. Not immediately but the plan to do so advances by huge increments. And our final chance to win against that agenda is by far the costliest, yields the least positive gains, and is the least enduring victory.
