That’s so vague it’s meaningless. Ask them what specifically are their concerns, then you can rebut it. Trying to rebut “bad for the environment” is as stupid as trying to rebut “orange man bad”.
FWIW the environment under Trump is in great shape - cutting carbon emissions, cleaner air & water, investing in Gen IV nuclear, etc etc. But no point in just giving them a laundry list of achievements, get them to tell you exactly what they mean.
Climate change is the 20th century's greatest hoax
to translate that to the environment is a farce.
Looking after the environment has nothing to do with CO2, hell, CO2 is plant food, even NASA grudgingly admitted the world is greener now than it was 50 years ago.
Thank you for this, that is a good point to consider. My response to people who bring up our C02 levels is that we produce much less than China and India, but the USA is always singled out
The environmental movement has been so successful that the US environment is the cleanest anywhere. Sometimes it has been used as a club to hurt a certain class of small entrepreneur, farmer, fisherman, land owner, stuff like that. Traditional people. White people.
So Trump being a nationalist and also a supporter of that kind of people, has tried to loosen some of the excess of environmental red tape. Because yes, it has a tendency to accumulate. Environmental regulations have acquired the force of un-passed legislation, a Louis IV kingship that has sometimes gone too far.
So your friends have a point, but it's not huge, and you can tell them there is no big issue here. American sovereignty is what Trump is working on. That matters too. We have not had any environmental degradation on his watch that I know about. The pipelines are not spilling, the water is ok, all seems to be okay.
If they mention the Paris accords, that exempted China and India for years and so were basically not useful. Trump was right to brush that aside. It was a simple wealth transfer. Not good for American sovereignty, and no use for the environment either.
For instance the plastic in the oceans comes from about ten rivers, not one of them in the US. They are in Asia and Africa.
Tell them to find something else to dislike about him. This isn't a big deal.
I appreciate your input here. I wasn't really into politics when the Paris Accords thing happened. Were there other reasons Trump pulled us out of it or was it mainly just because it was unfair towards the US?
I hate how WHO, UN and other globalist orgs always try to put the United States at higher standards than everyone else, and just let everyone else run wild.
The big objection was it exempted, DID NOT APPLY TO, two big, big, nations, for some years. China has a billion people. India has a billion people. The US has 327 million people. There are three Chinese - slightly more really - for every American. There are three Indians for every American. We cannot IMAGINE how large these populations are. Three times, more than three times, as large as ours.
The Paris accord DID NOT APPLY to them. Until some years had passed. AND there was a big wealth transfer to them.
Well Trump understands his brief to be US sovereignty. That IS the oath presidents take. It's a one sentence oath and that's all it talks about.
The c02 in the air is extremely low at 400ppm, perhaps the lowest it hasbeen in the history of our planet. It was 15 times higher in the past. Plants have actually had to adapt due to the low c02.
Honestly the whole global warming thing is just another left wing con game. Like everything else
Carbon emissions lower in 2019 than the previous years.
He's not good or bad for the environment and the President is never going to save the freaking environment unless they invent a battery which can store 1000x more energy than our current battery technology.
In fact, every battery which has ever been made in human history could only power the world for about 10 seconds. The President who will solve our energy problems will be the President who deregulates nuclear energy. Otherwise they are all full of shit and will never accomplish anything.
Dude, you can check my POST and COMMENT history. You don't need to call everyone who is trying to become more educated a shill, it's counter-productive
Lol i'll have to use that the next time it's brought up. TECHNICALLY, the lock downs reduced our "footprint" to 0 , so you're right Trump is the greatest environmentalist in history

thank you for actually taking this question seriously, as I am just trying to become more informed. You have provided a lot of great information
Well uhh...this whole shut down thing has done more for the environment than anyone else will probably ever do.

We've planted more trees than cut down in 2019.

you guys glow.
you're so bad at your jobs.
and no, of course he's not "bad for the environment."
nonsensical virtue signaling treaties mean nothing. actual results mean something.
