Didn't go to the beach myself but I have friends that did. All of them, no matter what end of the political spectrum, said it wasn't like it was depicted in NUMEROUS media stories this weekend. Even on Friday, the first day they were opened, folks said there a good deal of people, but 99.9% of people were obeying the restrictions in place and enjoying the beaches. Once again, FAKE NEWS.
Plus, the NYT is one to talk - they haven't even shut down their disease-ridden subway system, but want to bitch about people walking on our wide beaches.
Additionally, there were some beaches in FL that NEVER closed.
They just want to bitch because it's a Republican mayor and Republican governor.
Jacksonville (Duval) pede, here.

I've been to many beaches in FL and on a regular day people are more than 6 feet apart. There is little reason not to be on FL beaches.
