Lots of my jargon/acronyms you sometimes use that I don't understand, but I run it by my spouse who is in the healthcare field and she fills me in. No kidding. This virus is insidious and sometimes your o2 sat will be going down before symptom onset. Then your getting no saturation and the virus is destroying you and bacteria finds itself in an opportune evironment to propagate . Bought a pulse oximeter for my parents and make them check themselves q8. I at least want them to have the heads up if God forbid the worst happens
The virus seems to be interfering with porphyrin metabolism and possibly removing iron from the hemoglobin. Some docs have said the COVID-19 patients seem to tolerate the low O2 sats better than expected and do better with lots of oxygen and no ventilator. I wonder if these processes are making the sats look a little lower than they actually are.
Also, the zinc allows the body to make more metallothionine, which helps pick up extra iron and decreases oxidative damage from the free iron. Zinc also interferes with virus production inside the cell.
they followed the cocktail. HCQ, Z-Pac, and Zinc supplement. they say the HCA allows the Zinc into the cells, and it is what kills the virus. I'm not a virologist, but thats what I understand. the Z-Pac is for the inevitable secondary bacterial infections...
Your dad was in bad shape, and the second major mechanism of action for HCQ kicked in: just as in the case of malaria, it preserved the ability of the red blood cells to keep their iron.

Pulse ox is a very useful tool. Inexpensive and simple to use.
