They are trying novel therapies like NOx to keep people off ventilators. If you're over 60 and go on a ventilator you're pretty much as good as dead.

There were global issues with testing early on--like a month ago--because the initial test kits were faulty Chinese crap and had to be replaced. To my knowledge, the US has never been short of test kits, and we've done far and away more testing than any other country in the world (like 3X more).
I work in a health care adjacent position, employed by my Commonwealth. They’re intending to send mobile testing u it’s to each location to test residents and staff. I still haven’t determined whether the test is supposed to be a work requirement. I’d rather see antibody testing.
Suppose half the work force tests asymptomatic positive? We get sent home and the poor shmucks who are deemed clear end up spending their entire lives at work?

But there's no money in that. We need a new treatment that is full of nasty side effects that will cost an absolute fortune and can be "regulated" by the government at no small cost. Think of all the additional money that can be made by developing treatments for all the nasty side effects caused by the new treatment. And of course, those treatments will have side effects of their own. The money will be flowing like crazy!
At some point we need to reopen the country. We will never be able to wait for all traces of COVID to disappear completely, and thinking we can is simply dumb to assume. Testing does nothing. What do you do if you test positive? Get told to wait it out. We've waited it out for five weeks now. At some point we must resume our lives and grow some sort of herd immunity.

With regards to required testing, currently, we require all food service workers to have a recent TB test card - why not require a recent covid-negative or covid antibody testing card for food service and health care/ personal care workers (includes Nursing homes, but also hair stylists, barbers, and others in extra close contact). Anyone else can personally distance from others at stores and what not. I don't have any good ideas for how restaurants can maintain their own occupancy levels though.

In Southern California almost everyone who wants a test is turned away. They are only testing people who show flu like symptoms.
More testing isn’t needed. Testing shows trends among the population you’re testing. It’s a liberal talking point. Nothing more.
