RIP Dr Who :( Star Wars, The NFL, Star Trek, Marvel Comics, England in general, ESPN. Since I'm a geek I have only one small satisfaction, they made LOTR into the movies before the total marxist takeover.

Star Trek is the one that really annoys me. It was already the most genuinely progressive show on TV!

Nothing needs forced diversity but Trek REALLY didn't need it; it did diversity right, so it never felt forced or preachy.

That was when they just wanted equality. Now they say, if you don't suck that ma'am's dick, you hate gays and minorities and you rape women.

Exactly! Even from the start, having women in command positions on the bridge of a ship, minorities, alien races mingling with humans, Cpt falling in love with aliens and minorities, all very ahead of its time when it came out in the 60s!

And it was that way all through every other show and movie.

And when you write to push good writing and actors rather than an agenda you get characters like Ben Sisko, one of my favourite captains. His race is brought up exactly twice in 7 seasons, and both times for believable, plot related reasons.

I don't think Geordie was portrayed as a 'black man' ever, just a highly competent yet easy going human being.

And Vulcans and Klingons seem to ignore race completely despite clearly having black and white individuals.

It's almost as if the writers understood race is completely irrelevant...

It's the difference between being "diverse" and "diversity-lead". Trek was diverse, I'm sure it could have even been more diverse if they'd wanted. It had deeper themes, about the future and said a lot about the diversity - of opinion, of experience and of skin-colours. Trek Discovery is "diversity-lead". The initial premise of the show before ANYTHING else was decided was "A Star Trek show with a black female lead". Subsequently, the deeper theme of the show is.. "A Star Trek show with a black female lead". It shows in the writing - half the characters were nothing more than their one tokenism or quirk.

It's the same with all the "diversity-lead" Marvel comics. A comic about a gay hero, written by a gay artist about being a gay hero. A comic about a LatinX lesbian hero, written by a latinx lesbian blogger about being a latinx lesbian. There was no themes or deeper meaning to them but their token trait. No subtlety to any message or decent storytelling.

And Westworld and GoT and Watchmen....

GoT was ruined because RR Martin left to go back to writing and the two baffoons 'running' the show don't actually know how to write for shit....

All the rest in the list I agree SJW or whinny people that were not even really fans ruined it

Am I missing something on Westworld? What's wrong with it?

Animes like DBZ as well, Batman and Superman all cartoons have been making their characters Gay or adding gay characters and making the drawings brightly colored instead of darker tones all to make it childish and dumb and gay. Fucking stop

I watched TFA and vowed I would never watch anything after that. I definitely didnt miss out, but now it feels pretty bad to know that the moves I loved are trashed now.

I generally enjoyed enterprise, but ds9 is my favorite, I head Picard sucks. Nothing matters in any of the movies, palpatine won, all the Skywalker's are dead and only palpatines bloodline survived.

The inclusion of non binary bullshut is making it's way into games already in places it doesnt make sense.

At least games workshop is so uptight about warhammer it should be safe.

Remember almost all the big stuff was always run by scum and designed to subvert or manipulate you. Think about how much all of it's factored into our culture and identity. They knew how much power was there from the get-go. They were just patient and had enough creativity to put a lot of good content around smaller, more subtle subversion. Even just to gain your attention and trust for later.

All I feel bad about now is ever falling for it in the first place, even though it's pretty much impossible to avoid when you were raised in the middle of it.

Is this because the rebooted Ducktails apparently has a character with two gay dads?

I know they did the same in a rebooted She-ra.

Was wondering if I should take a look -- the 2011 Thundercats reboot was pretty damn good... but now I know I won't.
