I remember when this first happened, the 'contamination' - a month ago or so. This finally comes out and Daily Mail is the ONLY publication I saw that says that the kits they made were contaminated, and the contamination caused a FALSE POSITIVE RESULT. Then it took CDC (who was making the tests) a whole month to get them back from the public health outlets they had distributed them to!!! WaPo came out with this first to get in front of it, and act like yes it was a big mistake, but the only damage was a waste of valuable time. NO, plenty of people feel the contamination was on purpose, to make it look like 10X as many had CV wit the false positive tests, and ramp up those numbers. (I also wonder if there would have been 10X more deaths too, even tho we never would have known 10X more people were not even really sick.) AND I wonder why they are screaming for tests now in NY esp., when in CA, where I am, they diagnose over the phone. Period. You cant even get a test so them saying they are testing and cases are growing is a LIE. This is all highly suspect, and all of it has been inflated thru the ceiling. We need to get back to work. We need to win, not these evil entities cheating, lying & causing this. IMHO.

I originally thought the headline meant that people were being infected by the test kits themselves. Rather, the tests were flawed, and their inaccuracy prevented us from having enough data to make good decisions early on.
The CDC had been vague about what went wrong with the tests, initially only saying that “a problem in the manufacturing of one of the reagents” had led to the failure. Subsequent reporting suggested that the problem was with a negative control—that is, a part of the test meant to be free of any trace of the coronavirus as a critical reference for confirming that the test was working properly overall.
Problems that led to the contamination included researchers coming and going from labs working on the test kits without changing their coats and researchers sharing lab space to both assemble test components and handle samples containing the coronavirus.

WaPo said it just wasted time, but in reality - we would have been told millions more had it than actually do. We probably already are being told extremely inflated numbers.
Exactly. Just figure the whole thing was a scam. That is prob pretty close. And certain people here, and certain people overseas are complicit. The Left told us since day one they would win the next election BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY & they want to destroy POTUS for getting in their way & having the nerve to MAGA for the people . . . because he loves this country. How can CA not have testing? I live in N.H. one of my kids was tested 3 weeks ago and got the result, negative, the next day.
