Gee, you don't say. I've also read that a large percentage of people (around 40%) who have this experience no symptoms at all. This is not the Black Plague. Instead of #StayHome, it should be #CalmTheFuckDown.

See, just think about that for a bit and what that means.

You said 40% of people who test positive show no symptoms at all. As a specific example, on the Navy ship 600 people tested positive, 350 showed no symptoms at all. 40%, 50%, 60% - pick which number you want to use. Doesn’t matter.

If you show no symptoms, how long do you test positive for? Certainly not forever and probably not very long. I mean, you body came in contact with this virus and responded with, “nah, no thanks. Go away.”

Given that what seems to be known is that people who develop symptoms are infected for about 5 days before that, I guess that people who don’t show symptoms are infected for less than 5 days. But, they pass it on.

So, the antibody tests that are starting to be done are showing that people who had this are 10x-85x higher than known. Well, no shit.

If you just think for a bit, it’s pretty clear that a) it is extremely contagious, and b) most people’s immune systems reject it quickly without getting sick. And, certainly, combining these things, the death rate is quite low.

So, back to that Navy ship. 4800 people and only 600 test positive. Does that mean that 4200 did not get exposed or infected? Google what Navy sleeping quarters look like. You tell me.

Really good point and no googling required. I lived it on two carriers.
