I believe I first heard of this from Mark Passio www.whatonearthishappening.com on one of his podcasts. The thing is though, that they are probably correct in that doing so does actually negate some of the karmic consequence. In this way (as they see it) it isn't actually all their fault, because they were quite open about their intentions.
I haven't looked into the hidden hand (Illuminati whistleblower?) much as of yet.
Satanists believe it absolves them of karmic backlash.
