There was also a clear enemy actually causing unusual harm. Imagine if they had been asked to change their lives because Hitler was over there and a chart shows he's going to invade Poland next week, and he never does. Oh wait, it's next month, nope still no invasion. Pack up all our young men and send them to England to prepare! What, it's been two months and they are just sitting there doing nothing?

It's been over a month of this. If there was sickness and death all around Americans would voluntarily protect themselves without the dictators forcing it. How many of us can say they know someone personally that has gotten sick from this?

I can.

Two now, in fact. One in the upper midwest (70's male, deceased, part of my wife's extended family) and one in the northeast (Early 40's male, hit pretty hard, but not hospitalized yet).

I retired from my town's volunteer rescue ambulance about 18 months ago after a decade of service. The 40's male was still riding, it is assumed he got infected while volunteering on the ambulance.

I keep seeing that about personally knowing someone who's gotten sick, it's pretty interesting.
