WWII created millions of jobs. Half Whit destroyed thousands if not millions of jobs and then decided to micro-manage every detail of what every idled resident could do.

It's worse than micro-managing.

It's near-deliberate mis-managing.

"What can I do to maximize the pain" sorts of managing.

Plan 1) "We're putting extra, usually unneeded subway cars on each line so people can spread out a bit more. Yes, it will cost us money, but we have to do it to stay safe!"

Plan 2) "We're cutting half the cars on the subways out to reduce how many of our workers are needed. (And everyone is packed into every single car like effing sardines, this sounds like it is a marvelous incubator!!!)"

Do you think cities choose Plan1? or Plan 2? Shocking to realize. (Yes, this was the New York City plan. What's the incident rate there again?)
