From a pathology standpoint, it is ‘virtually impossible’ for a coronavirus derived from bats and mice to “mutate” and give itself the ability to attach to ACE-2 receptors found in human bronchial cells. This capability can only be achieved through gain of function experiments. (twitter.com)

That's... Not really true. It doesn't change the fact that this particular virus was absolutely twiddled with in a lab in Wuhan by people such as Zhengli-Shi, and then either accidentally (most likely) or intentionally released for some real-world validation, but still...

ACE2 receptors exist in many mammals. That is all.
