From a pathology standpoint, it is ‘virtually impossible’ for a coronavirus derived from bats and mice to “mutate” and give itself the ability to attach to ACE-2 receptors found in human bronchial cells. This capability can only be achieved through gain of function experiments. (twitter.com)

Sorry, but this tweet makes no sense. Viruses mutate animal to human transmission all the damn time. Swine flu? Avian flu? I don't know who this person is or why they're saying it, but their statement is fundamentally wrong. It is still entirely possible that it was engineered.
