My mom is a nurse, and she’s over 60, so she’s being very careful, and I mean no slight against nurses and healthcare professionals, but when the fuck did we start letting healthcare workers dictate our entire way of life? Person who shared this, and myself live in a county with 62 cases (assuming over half have recovered since the number has gone down, and what, maybe 10% tops so 6 cases have resulted in a hospitalization? Yet, I’m being made to think the hospital is being totally overrun). Do they just want a pat on the back? Cause I can give them that, but I’ll be damned (fully knowing I’m at risk of contracting this virus) if I’m gonna let a healthcare provider dictate the economics of my life. Bravo for the hard work they do, but it’s almost like some of these folks want people to bow down to them, while they’re just doing their jobs. They choose to go into this profession, and I don’t take too kindly to someone in one field attempting to dictate what should happen in a completely different expertise.

Engineers, people doing networking, hell, we’ve got the entire Oil industry in a country that has been a net exporter about to blow up.
