ER was pretty bad. Hours between seeing someone. One bathroom had no soap or paper towels. I unplugged myself, walked down to bathroom, went back and plugged everything back in. No one batted an eye.
The surgery floor is so much nicer. Bedside manner fantastic here. Helpful workers and everyone is so nice.
Wow. So the surgeon just let me know that they can’t operate right now due to the new practices from the virus. They have to have it approved by a board. Since I don’t have a rupture, I have to be on IV antibiotics for at least a day while they get the surgery scheduled. Could be 3-4 days.
Wow is right. They're going to make you sit there for 3-4 days in pain while they deliberate over whether an appendectomy is necessary or not. I'm lost for words.

She dropped me off here and went home after a few hours. We live an hour away. She just drove back to bring me a bag. Pajamas, socks, toothbrush, phone charger, and Ben Carson’s “One Nation” to read. What a wife!
Love her, that’s a lot of mileage in one day. She is taking good care of you.
I read “healing hands” the ben Carson’s biography a few years back. He is such an amazing success story. Very inspirational. Hope you can get sleep, no loud snorer beside you, and hope the nurses don’t wake you up that often during the night ;)
That's just ridiculous. I'm sorry your wife can't be in there with you because sometimes it helps to have someone there to lobby for you and just get things done with hospital staff, etc. Prayers for you and your family.
Yeah. That was never more evident than this morning. Surgical team cam to talk to me. They gave me the same bullshit about covid and no surgeons. They asked how I felt about treating with antibiotics and no surgery. I said I’d rather not get cut open if it’s avoidable. In unison they said “Great!” And just fucking left. No word how long I’ll be here, nothing. I need my wife here to harass them. She’s better at politics than I am.
I had it when I was 12. It just felt like a stuck pain- I fucked around for a couple of days until I went to my primary care family doctor. He then recommended that I get to the fucking ER, ASAP.
Wouldn't count on it, but good luck, just make sure they don't take your liver, your going to need it as long as Fauci and Scarf Olympics Lady are around. JK get better!
War vet from Vietnam told me he begged to have his legs cut off in Nam. Put him in hodgkins ward. Had no idea what was wrong. Long long painful recovery in a jungle with dirt roads.
Guy helped save my life during early rehab years.
Trust God. He will deliver you. Sick people like me are my only friends. Thx for going thru pain so you can understand and help people.

I still don’t know what they plan to do for treatment. They won’t do surgery, and won’t let me eat “just in case they need to do surgery.”
Just IV antibiotics and morphine and no end in sight. No one will tell me anything. I asked if I could go to a hospital that DOES have surgeons who can do an appendectomy and they didn’t know if I could do that either.
I’ll go home tomorrow. Thank you so much for everyone who commented, joked about it, and especially prayed for me. I can’t tell you how much it helped me get through. I’m so glad for all of you.

It's a squeaky wheel thing. When they know your wife is going to dog them, they tend to be more responsive.
