My state has a mandatory Mask policy in public places. My Job has a "Masks inside the building policy" that it enforces for employees but won't enforce on customers if they refuse.
Yesterday, my shift ended, I grabbed my stuff, clocked out, and left via the employee entrance while removing my mask. I walked the length of the building, passed two of our customer hosts counting the people coming in and making sure the ones going out aren't stealing, smiled, gave a thumbs up, and went back inside without a mask to buy a red bull. I COULD have grabbed it on my way out, but there was a point to be made.
My point is simple: I, like many, many others, am very tired of all this shit. No matter how bad it could be, we're not living in terror. I'm not doing this again. This was pointless. The mortality rate is down to between 0.2% and 0.002%, and that's right around the mortality rate of the flu (which is 0.6%, I believe. Splitting the difference between 0.2 and 0.002 would give you less than that, even.) We've burned our country to the ground over nothing. Never again. Don't care if EVERYONE dies.
With ya on this 100 percent. I've been blessed to continue working through this and keeping almost all 50 of my guys going. Having worked bomb dogs for 5 years in the ME, I'm not too moved by fear anymore.
