Me too, I hate this fake histeria and hope the bullshit lock down ends soon. But I'm loving the silent roads and lack of smog. I honestly can not wait until all cars have switched to electric. The quality of life improvement from reduced noise and pollution is incredible.
For a lot of the driving that a lot of Americans do they are a nice option, particularly if gas were to get expensive again. If we could have nuclear power then they could reduce pollution.
I don't own one myself but I'm curious to see where the tech goes.
Makes sense though to require them for urbanites. If you have a zip within a metro area, your first vehicle must be electric. There's you some noise and air pollution reduction.
I don't understand why you are being downvoted. Why not dream of both a roaring economy and a reduction in congestion and pollution brought on not by fiat, but by the natural progress of technology! Wouldn't it be nice if cars could run on the power of the atom, or that our long haulers could have clear roads because the population telecommutes instead of slaving away at the office? Electric cars may or may not be economical and environmental currently, but why wouldn't one be glad if they became superior to gasoline options in the future?
Now if only commercial air travel would get back in the air for people to see it.
I don’t like the economic impact, but I love these clear and quiet skies!

Most electric cars already in the market will beat your present car in acceleration.
Portraying them as golf car is stupid.

They do reduce pollution. They don't eliminate it, but they reduce it.

Is commercial air travel actually grounded completely? I can still book flights.
Pretty sure you can fly right now
No not at all but bookings are down 94% from this time last year.
