He's eaten up inside over the Trump juggernaut destroying his legacy.
For example, take the presidential memoir that Obama accepted his share of a 65 million dollar kickback to write.
Where is it???
One year ago the press breathlessly reported that it was likely to be published in 2020.
Since then, nothing.
Personally I don't believe the book has been written. Obama doesn't know what to write because A, Trump is still taking a blowtorch to his abysmal legacy and B, he can't be sure Barr won't eventually get off his duff and indict someone from the Choomer's 'scandal free,' presidency.
So Obama can't write or publish anything. Trump has him in a vice [you know the allusion] and the dirty, stinking press is pretending not to notice.
C, 0bama is notoriously lazy as hell .. and a political coward.

D, Bill Ayers wrote Dreams from my Father. I have seen samples of Obama's unedited writing. A precocious fifth grader could do better.
So what does he do? Hire a ghostwriter and say, 'Write as if you are Bill Ayers.'

That's right pede if you add as others have mentioned that Barry is lazy, the "book deal" was always just Dims laundering money. Hopefully at some point that systemic corruption will also be prosecuted. Looking at lots of corrupt political cucks on both sides.
The book deal was also a contract. Obama accepted his part of the 65 million dollar advance in exchange for a book. The book would not have been worth a small fraction of the advance. Nevertheless, Obama contractually owes the publishers a book.
If a Republican had done the same, the press would be beating him/her up daily.
In Barry’s defense, it is really hard to write a book about your lasting impact and legacy on the world when the next guy got rid of most of it in his first few months, after having been proven right in his criticizing you for your entire presidency, and having the final straw that made Trump run being when you yourself told him at a public party on TV that he would never be president.
Maybe he’s experimenting with a new direction for the book. Coming out about what it’s like to be married to Michael and how she was the first trans first lady. If he really wanted to sell books, just say he wasn’t born in America. Feed the fire. Embrace it. I’d buy that book.
