Let's get one thing out of the picture here, I get why people don't want to open the economy. The virus is a terrible thing that is killing people, but there isn't going to be a vaccine for a year. There is no way you can keep people locked up that long not just because it would kill the economy, but also people won't stand for it and you'll get riots.

Opening the economy is going to get people infected and more people are going to die, but more people will die if you keep the economy close because they will have no money, no food, no power, no water, no homes, etc. You'll see riots, armed conflict, suicides, and more. Hell, where I am in Albany, there was a car protest where people were in their cars clogging up the streets in protest and demanding to open everything (while I also saw two graffiti's saying Trump Lied and People Died but whatever)

And it's only been a month.

There is no right answer to this because people are going to die no matter what, but would you rather have a country or no country. Oil is down, unemployment is at Obama reign levels, tensions with China, Iran and Russia are boiling which could lead to war, and the media and Neo-Liberals want to play games while the ship sinks around them. And everyone is more concerned about blaming someone then coming up with a solution.

Look, I get it. I don't want to risk other peoples lives, but there comes a time when you have no choice. If the economy remains closed for another month or two, it's a Great Depression and then you'll see the dominos falls. War. Famine. Chaos. It will be the next Dark Age as I have feared would happen for fifteen years.

Maybe its too late to change anything. Maybe this is what needs to happen to fix the world again. Maybe nothing will happen, but I do know this, despite the risks, the lesser of our damaging option is to open the economy.

Yes, there were two options: Let the virus run its course and get on with living, or destroy the economy first and eventually the virus will run its course anyway. We are getting close to the point of no return on that second option.

There is never going to be a vaccine. There is no vaccine for past SARS strains, and there is no way in hell an EFFECTIVE vaccine could be created in a year. It's a lie to keep the lockdown going.

What are the goals for such deception? The left are hyper focused on grabbing power at any cost, but some others want "population" control", and they'll get it as the destruction of the entire world's economy will kill FAR more than this chinese virus could.

The curve is sufficiently flattened. Hospitals are more than prepared to deal with whatever surge in cases will result from opening up.

Yes, more people will get sick, but many will be asymptomatic. We will develop herd immunity, that really is one of the only ways to beat this thing. Let everyone become immune. Give people HCQ+Zinc to accelerate their recovery if they do get sick. Let the virus run its course and burn out, like H1N1 did.

Further shutdowns only delay the inevitable while causing severe amounts of economic and societal damage.

Open it up now! It is the only thing that will preserve our freedoms. We are destroying more lives with this shut down than anything that the virus could do. The more we learn about this, the less scary it is. We’ll adapt and find solutions. How anyone thinks we can function as a society with millions unemployed and businesses bankrupt is more than I can understand. Those that want extended stay at home orders should just inflict that on themselves.
