Not just media power, but near iron fist power in academia, scientific research, and bullshit modeling that never comes close to being correct.

No, we just wasted three weeks with a first time experiment that worked as it was supposed to. The hospitals were not overburdened.

Now we can switch, we now know how/who to protect. We have faster tests to identify the virus. The most frail have most likely taken out, unfortunately.

Open everything back up ASAP. Get the young kids back to school (but be cautious of their teachers and family age/health). Note young kids since they tend to have younger parents, and younger teachers.

If you are afraid, then shelter in place.

Can I vote for you in the next election? We need more politicians with common sense.

6

We can switch, but it isn't going to happen because our leaders are all retards and are going down with this sinking ship.

9
JudicialDredd 9 points ago +9 / -0

That's where your wrong kiddo. The leaders won't go down. They still have fat paychecks, pensions, Healthcare and a "company" car.

Exactly. Have you noticed everyone in Walmart wearing a mask to protect health is obese? Weird. So concerned about health and social distancing, yet loading their cart full of processed, high fat, high sugar foods. People are ignorant.

USA has just about 1 million cases. If you look at the antibody studies out there, the penetrance could be 50-80x higher than reported cases. That could mean up to 50-80 million Americans are already immune to the virus. Herd immunity could be further along than we think.

Low IQ, FAKE DOCTORS like Fauci and Redfield are not capable of making even one accurate projection.

Let's be honest here: the real reason Sweden stayed open was because if they tried to enforce lockdown on their "diverse" population, the weekly grenade attacks would become daily ones.

29
LoneStarDangler 29 points ago +30 / -1

No, it was because the swedish economy is in such a bad spot that even a short, complete, lockdown would have been disastrous.

The media is trying to create fear this time though, there’s been 3 crashes like this in history, 1869, The Depression, and the Crash in 87, in 1869 and 1987 the market made a v shape recovery. The depression only lasted so long because we were undergoing a communist takeover of our government.

The 2008 crisis doesn’t count in this because it was a perfect storm of a ridiculous bubble, combined with most of America being on adjustable rate mortgages so the Fed could rape them.

Historically this should be a nothingburger because there has been no fundamental change or problem that occurred to spur this other than the government telling everyone to close.

13
HockeyMom4Trump 13 points ago +13 / -0

This feels like a communist takeover in MN. They took down tennis nets. Closed pools for the ENTIRE summer. Closed ice arenas. We have a phone number to snitch on our neighbors for playing in the park. The government has made it ILLEGAL to operate a private business. It was supposed to be about "flattening the curve" not cowering in our homemade toilet paper bunkers until no one ever became sick and died again.

Yep, and I believe when Trump says things will bounce back quickly and will be better than ever. The unemployment numbers aren't because there was an employment issue, its because it was shut down like a light switch, but can come back on just as fast as it went out.

2
Tonightm01 2 points ago +2 / -0

If they come out of this earlier than other countries in the EU. Its economy ain't going to be bad anymore.

Especially if the country takes advantage of EU countries wanting to make supply lines closer to home. Sweden having a full and healthy workforce.

2
hestkorv 2 points ago +2 / -0

The real reason is our constitutional law, we can move freely and travel from city to city by law. And it would take 8 years to change those laws.

1
LoneStarDangler 1 point ago +1 / -0

A common misconception regarding swedish civics. 'Constitutional' law can be changed in 10 months, and nothing is set in stone anyway. Everything can be overridden by the 'regering' or 'riksdag'. Or the EU for that matter.

I'm glad Tucker has been hammering this point every night. Last night he brought light to more studies and real data showing that these lockdowns have had NO effect on the virus spread. Thousands of people in CA have been exposed and the virus has passed through a good percent of the population and the stats are no worse than an average flu season. States that did NOT lock down are also doing fine. No problems with hospitals and again, no worse than the average flu season. WE'VE BEEN DUPED!

Someone please explain to me why we're quarantining and preventing ourselves from building the natural antibodies to this strain of Coronavirus by exposing ourselves to it?

I would think it's like the Chickenpox. Hell, doctors recommend you let your children play together if ONE of them have it so the other can get it and build an immunity to it.

Either you can get it again after contracting it once... or you're needed at blood donation centers to donate your plasma after contracting it because you've built up an immunity to it.

Which is it?

4
MakeAmericaLegendary 4 points ago +5 / -1

Didn't they stop recommending that because it leads to shingles later in life?

3
TheLeftIsAntiRight 3 points ago +3 / -0

Not that I know of? My daughters' pediatrician had recommended it, They're 14 and 10 now.

8
exorthderp 8 points ago +8 / -0

I remember when my brother got chicken pox as a kid, allllll of my cousins came over to ensure we all got it at the same time. 5 aunts, 14 kids below the age of 8. My mom/aunts are saints. I said this from the beginning...do people forget that chicken pox parties were a thing?

6
TheLeftIsAntiRight 6 points ago +6 / -0

The whole point of "chicken pox parties" was HERD IMMUNITY. You can't create herd immunity if people are isolated from each other.

It figures, though. The left already lives inside their own bubble because the outside world is too dangerous for them, so they want the government to decide who can and can't do things. It's exactly what's been happening for the past month.

2
exorthderp 2 points ago +3 / -1

Not trying to go full hippie here.... but as yesterday was Earth day, mother Earth does tend to do course corrections. Nothing wrong with a culling of the herd every once in a while. Until we get it through our thick skulls that some of this is necessary for our planet to continue to survive, we will continue this nonsense. I understand that we are higher thinking beings, but when an antelope breaks its leg, you don't see the herd stopping, dropping everything, and hanging around to protect it. Left for the wolves. All of the smartest scientists in the world, and apparently all of them are forgetting natural selection. The majority of people who are dying from this have an underlying health condition. Healthy people are not dropping dead.

4
TheLeftIsAntiRight 4 points ago +4 / -0

I think immuno-compromised and already-infected people should quarantine and the rest of us should go back to work to open the economy back up. There's ZERO reason for the government to put these demands on perfectly healthy people.

The government (with the help of the media) is completely overreaching, and they don't seem to understand that these "protests" aren't gonna stop as long as they keep trying to literally control what citizens can and cannot do, where they can and can't go, where they can and can't work, etc.

We already have Nancy Pelosi acting as a one-person House of Representatives. When the FUCK is anyone going to get her in check?

5
exorthderp 5 points ago +5 / -0

Had this exact conversation last night with my father. Pelosi is rich beyond most of us dreams, and 80. WTF is she doing and why do her constituents still think she has their best interest at heart? Destroys the old "rich white guy republican narrative" that the media loves to portray. Is her district a bunch of morons? Has anyone been to san fran recently? Used to be a great city....... key phrase USED to.

3
DrGEOTUS 3 points ago +3 / -0

It all goes back to the original skewed mortality projections.

2
Mac3 2 points ago +3 / -1

Either you can get it again after contracting it once... or you're needed at blood donation centers to donate your plasma after contracting it because you've built up an immunity to it.

Immunity seems to last the same as other viruses. Doomers were saying there is no lasting immunity (or immunity at all), but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

People did the chicken pox parties because it’s a much milder illness in young compared to older kids and especially older people. The same logic doesn’t apply here, because although covid is also mild in kids and worse in older people, older people have no immunity.

The problem is that even though it’s as bad as some people originally thought, it can still be pretty bad. You don’t want to catch it if you don’t have to.

Edit: just want to add that I love your skepticism here. There is so much conflicting info out there and people act like opposite things are true at the same time.

15
Tonightm01 15 points ago +15 / -0

The lockdowns will go down in history as the worst thing nations did during this in the years to come. Once the economic suffering kicks in.

I'm a healthy-minded person and was generally in good mental health. But fucking hell I'm starting to fell it. I've never had a panic attack or been in a depressed state.

But two weeks ago I had a small panic attack brought on by hearing about my country turning into a police state (my country turning into China). And two days ago I was just depressed all day. I just sat in my bed all day. My head just spinning.

The mental health fallout from all this that will lead to ill health into later life is going to be off the charts.

China showed the world how to put the shotgun to the head of the economy and the rest of the world just followed along.

Sweden is the core of the globo-homo deep state.

CNBC are their cheer leaders.

Why are you believing any of this? I read swedish politics daily (am swedish), it's completely nightmare in Stockholm. No one over 60 will get a ventilator, as a rule for example.

This is good?

7
Lion-Ted 7 points ago +8 / -1

The ventilators kill more people than the virus, it’s extremely dangerous and a lot of doctors are advocating against it

1
Mac3 1 point ago +2 / -1

I think NYC docs get this. They are reserving vents for people who are going to die without immediate intervention. Unfortunately, this means 80% of people don’t ever get off the vent. Sadly, if you need the vent you were likely destined to die anyway.

Generally, if you get put on a vent for any illness, it’s a bad sign.

3
GeneticsGuy 3 points ago +3 / -0

Biologist here who used to work in virology. I have been saying this since we found out that people who had no underlying conditions were almost no to low risk. Mass isolation is THE DUMBEST IDEA EVER and completely unscientific. The right way to approach it is to build herd immunity on the backs of the young and healthy.

Equally isolating all, then equally easing isolation restrictions on all people equally is BAD POLICY and the CDC's recommendations are an absolute embarrassment to epidemiologists everywhere. No, you isolate the legitimately at-risk people, encourage isolation of the elderly, and so on. Build herd immunity as fast as possible among the healthy people who won't end up in a hospital. Instead, we isolate all, then unisolate all and boom, you are 100% guaranteed to get some unnecessary resurgence. This has been the dumbest policy I have ever seen implemented and the world as a whole is doing it, with exception to some smart countries who took an actual scientific approach, like Sweden.

Instead, we are isolating all people, including the young and healthy for reasons. It's so absolutely horrible and stupid that the only explanation I have behind it is the powers to be really hate the people and want the economies of the world to crash and this was their excuse to make it happen.

Now, isolation en masse in some places early on might have made some sense in regards to there being a run on the hospital system and their worries. Now we know that's no longer an issue. Now we know that the only people ending up in hospitals are people with underlying conditions. Instead we are having the government allow big businesses to stay open and all small businesses to close. This is EMBARRASSING. It is one of the greatest blunders in the history of the world and I don't even blame Trump for it because he is surrounded by anti-science globalists and a leftist media who are going to blame him for any death that occurs if he doesn't take this action and goes against the CDC guidelines.

All the leadership at the CDC should be fired.

Sweden didn't need to be destroyed so it could be rebuilt into a socialist nation, as it's already a socialist nation, so the globalists let it be.

Sweden also doesn't have Chinamen flying over there daily and spitting on food at the super markets and computer keyboards at big box stores. They are also not currently in a trade war with China or any sort of type of standing up to China. Also, hardly anybody lives there. We have more illegals than Sweden has citizens.

We may have royally fucked ourselves in terms of herd immunity by shutting down. Besides the economy being fucked, this virus will hit us hard the next time it comes around.

That is if it is true that the virus wasn't here a lot earlier and that most of us already got it.

1

This should be used as a helpful guide here.

They still see hardly any cases outside of Stockholm.

This is a public health problem primarily in densely populated cities. Stockholm is densely populated compared to Sweden at large, but it is nowhere close compared to the places hit hardest like NYC and Milan. They are still seeing a high mortality there.

If your goal is to flatten the curve/reduce unnecessary loss of life due to overwhelming the healthcare system and keep the economy afloat, you can close down the most densely populated areas like NYC and Chicago and let the rest of the country stay open like normal.

RahkeemTheMachine -11 points ago +2 / -13

4
Gizmo17 4 points ago +4 / -0

I’m a doctor and I believe you get immunity from it. So there.

That being said I don’t think being a doctor means you aren’t also dumb about a lot of stuff, including doctoring.

2
Midnight_Pede 2 points ago +2 / -0

Fun fact: Numerous epidemiologists of renown have said it does occur. Numerous studies already confirmed that an extremely large rate of people already had Corona compared to the confirmed case. Meaning, a lot got sick, or had no symptoms. Which means herd immunity begins to take hold.

If there was a constant reinfection, every country still functioning without a lockdown would be completely overwhelmed by not only new cases, but the reinfected cases as well.

Don't peddle fake bullshit.

-1
RahkeemTheMachine -1 points ago +1 / -2

Numerous epidemiologists are literally guessing. There’s no proven studies. In fact 30% of South Koreans tested positive a second time. Another study showed little or no antibodies in the majority of recovered cases

1
Midnight_Pede 1 point ago +1 / -0

Again, we have a multitude of studies that say otherwise. We also have REAL TIME documenting of COVID. Every country not in full lockdown would be completely overwhelmed if this shit was reinfecting over and over. Hospitals are fucking empty almost everywhere outside a few hotzones.

2
Based_and_proud 2 points ago +3 / -1

So then the antibody tests being used are giving a false-negative so the mortality is even lower than thought so this world-ending pandemic isn't as bad as the media wants us to believe. Great news!

-1
RahkeemTheMachine -1 points ago +1 / -2

Antibody tests have a high false positive rate in a population with little exposure. 5 out of 6 positives can be false

1
Based_and_proud 1 point ago +1 / -0

So false negatives or false positives? Pick your poison soon, otherwise I'm going to just assume you're a trolling leftist.
