I used to date a nurse. She used to come home from work every day talking about how she was way smarter than all the doctors. In actuality after she graduated from college she never took in any new information and thought she had already maxed out in brain power. I'm sure she was smart at one time but once you get that elitist brain and think you know everything it's over for you. So when people say 'we need to trust all doctors and nurses'. My counter is well not if they're like my dumb ex.
Funnily enough that's exactly who I'm talking about. They don't do tik tok or anything like that they're just idiots. Although this is pretty anecdotal as I only know 3 nurses.
She had a brain just never used it. I think a lazy arrogant mind is even more dangerous cause they use their authority and 'expertise' to boss people around without verifying what they're telling you.
The more you learn the more you realize how little you know. The depth of human experience and knowledge is so expansive that it is impossible for any one person to come even close to learning everything they should. That's not even counting all the stuff humanity has yet to discover or learn.
Anyone who thinks they know it all is extremely full of themselves and willfully ignorant. This is part of why we work together as a society and a species - together we can fill in each other's knowledge gaps and question one another's points of view. When you start thinking you're better than others and refusing to listen to alternate viewpoints you are cutting your ability to learn off at the knees.
Great comment. Before my grandpa passed on, he asked me what I learned from going through 6 years of college. I said, "I learned just how little I really know." Part of the reason that I love coming here is because I am always learning and there are people from many different backgrounds to help me "fill in those knowledge gaps" and even change my mind on a few things.

Everyone I know who became a nurse is exactly the type of person I would not want caring for me
I'm sure the rank and file nurses without tik tok accounts are fine.

No you're supposed to apply anecdotal evidence to all cases. Haven't you been paying attention to your liberal overlords?
Nope. People thought the same about cops too.
My cousin is a surgical nurse.
She had to take college algebra 4 times.
ALGEBRA.

What do you call the guy who graduated dead last in his class from Med School?
Doctor.
Thanks for the insight. This make a lot of sense.
That last line is the true winner there. Great post.

This is well put. Agree 100%. I studied math in college and the more math I learned the more I realized I didn't know shit.
