I’m currently working in a nursing home for a large company and the lockdown measures they’re making us take are insane. It started out as “just take precautions” but that quickly turned into no visitors unless someone is actively dying. That then turned into “every employee wears masks and goggles.” That turned into lock down every wing and no residents can congregate in the hallways at all, they’re no longer allowed to eat in the dining rooms, nothing. So many of these people are spending their last days under a draconian lockdown that is worse than what even prisoners are out through right now. All of our residents and staff were tested for the virus (government mandate) and we are all negative. Maybe we could lighten up and little bit and let these people feel like human beings again? Nope. Just zoom calls with loved ones. Most of the family members have no clue what that is and most of the residents aren’t with it enough to pay attention to a tablet screen. Honestly it just freaks most of them out because they just see the “tv talking to them.” This shit is nuts. We need to end this farce and get back to normal.
