So, when we open up for business next month. What kind of sales tactics are big and small businesses using to get consumers back? Anyone having any idea on new car sales and interest rates? Curious what this will be like going forward.
When Philadelphia announced the 2 week shutdown march 16th, I left work early, and went to three pharmacies looking for gloves, masks, and hand sanitizer. None, anywhere. Got home, made some calls. Out of all the calls I made, one picked up, and they were out too.
I work for an MSP which is also an ITSP..... We do tech support for companies too small to have their own tech staff (managed service provider), and we do VOIP telephone service (internet telephone service provider). We are critical infrastructure, so I thought that despite the shutdown, I'd be working at least some hours in the next 2 (HA!) weeks..... I was wrong, but my point is, I IMMEDIATELY tried to get stuff I though I would need, but it had already been bought out by Chads and Karens who will pile this shit on top of their toilet paper mountain.
I RE-FUCKING-FUSE to put any further effort into obtaining PPE. I will not go check hardware stores for dust masks (which aren't really the right type anyway), and I'm not going to pay ebay / amazon extortion prices for shit.
If a store requires me to wear a mask, they can provide me with a mask, and I will wear it if it makes the dumb-dumbs behind the counter feel better (legally I mean..... it's mandated here that you're supposed to make customers wear masks).... But I will not spend another second or a single penny on shit I don't need and can't find with a reasonable amount of effort at a reasonable price.
Businesses imposing restrictions that government doesn't, I agree with you and would prefer not doing business with them
What about locales that require wearing masks? Should the business actively rebel? While I appreciate the spirit, that's touchy if it's a business that takes in walk-in customers. It's a sitting duck to be reported by anyone, and then you can't dodge authorities showing up. Facing them down can be a HUGE investment in both money and time. Even a win could cost the owner their business.
Now I prefer we all get involved with class action lawsuits, so that everybody's protected from nonsense like this.
"The first 9 people to show up on July 17 will be allowed to visit Disneyland. Provided they are wearing a mask and can prove that they have COVID immunity."
Whatever new car scams are marketed; I ain't taking a 15% hit on a depreciating asset the moment I take possession of it. Maybe I can get a quantitative easing on those rates to offset it.
That’s what I was thinking. Several have dropped their new car sales to 0%. Shouldnt be hard to drop a couple grand from sticker. not sure how aggressive they will be to unload. I’m looking at toyota, they are the only holdout on 0%.

Screw her kick back land scheme.
Any business that “requires” a face mask will immediately lose my business.

Their property, their rules.
Your money, your choice.
This is a voluntary transaction, and morally acceptable.
What's unacceptable is government threatening to shoot you both for not wearing the mask/allowing you to not wear the mask.
unfortunately I live in NJ. Don't think I'll be able to have that discretion
Tell them the President and the CDC say it is merely personal suggestion.

I'm looking for a 2012-2016 Land Cruiser or LX 570 to take off someone's hands in this downturn
Ahhhh....very nice. I’m a 4runner guy.
"Buy car. Now corona free."
"Made NOT in China."
"China is asshoe" <--- I'd buy literally everything that has these words on it.
