Because I think people see them as two totally different things. Apples to oranges.

Just like everyone is freaking out about Covid-19, but every year we lose thousands to fatal car accidents (we don't ban cars) and suicide and alcohol (we don't ban alcohol) and drowning and fires and a host of illnesses-cancer, heart disease, etc. Look at all the deaths each year from heart disease. It's a massive amount. And yet, the MSM hypes fat acceptance, which is a huge problem.

When I look at deaths from coronavirus in MN I see that we've lost around 220 people. Sad, sure, but not a huge amount when you look at our 5.7 million population. The median age of deaths is 83 and virtually all had pre-existing conditions. To me, that's just very different than someone perfectly healthy going to work one Tuesday and an airplane crashing through the building forcing them to jump out. Maybe it's just how I think, but 9/11 was an evil terrorist attack, whereas a virus is more of an act of God (assuming the Chinese did not weaponize it for bioterrorism). Just like my father died of a brutal terminal illness called pulmonary fibrosis. It was awful, but we could accept it differently than if a serial killer came in his home and murdered him. In both cases, the end result is death, but there is a difference in how we deal with it.

But that's just my opinion, which is why I don't really agree with comparing 9/11 to a virus.
