It's really easy to do it.

Go to your Calendar app, and click on Calendars at the bottom.

Next to US Holidays, tap the colored circle with the checkmark, and turn it off. That removes the default US Holidays calendar.

Now, you probably want a US holiday calendar without the extra junk? That's the next step. Go to this URL:

https://www.calendarlabs.com/ical-calendar/holidays/us-holidays-76/

Click the Subscribe link, and it should import the calendar into your phone, and keep it updated each year.

If you want to see what holidays are included, view the PDF at that link, first.

That's pretty much what I did.

It's amazing how you got to jump through hoops just to get the right calendar loaded. If these devices were so fuggen "smart" it should just load the correct calendar based on your locality. It's just like they use this as an opportunity to say "fuck you, dirty Americans"

The iPhone does select a calendar based on your locality. But, it only does so when you first start the phone and select your country/region. However, it doesn't change after that.

Yeah it gives you such a relevant calendar based on your us location. Fuck aapl/msft/facebox et al.

It's inaccurate. Missing something like 52 holidays: Sunday Gunday

I know you are joking, but bear with me.....

The *.ics file is just text:

https://www.calendarlabs.com/ical-calendar/ics/76/US_Holidays.ics

(Save it to your laptop and open it with any text editor)

But, the file specification provides for a repeating entry: only one would be needed for every Sunday.

Maybe someone could create a TD.win calendar file, with notable events to be observed?

Thank you, I've been annoyed by this for years but couldn't find a solution.
