Okay, so I’m going deep into hypothetical land here but mainly just due to curiosity. We now have two congressmen who have essentially been ousted by the Democrat party and may very well switch over to the Republican side. Say we end up flipping 17 more (which should put us at a majority in the House) by Nov. 3. Would that strip Nancy from the title of Speaker? Don’t think anything like that has ever happened before. I know that this is highly unlikely but the thought crossed my mind.
Both of these representatives (one in Michigan and one in Georgia) are state representatives, not US House Representatives.
But, at the beginning of each Congress, they vote on a new Speaker. If Republicans control the US House, there will be a Republican Speaker.
Spez: removing a House Speaker in the middle of a Congressional term is very rare (although I'm not sure it ever actually occurred). It came close to happening in 2015 when Mark Meadows made a motion to "vacate the chair". There was never a vote on the resolution, but the writing on the wall was so clear that Speaker of the House John Boehner soon resigned as Speaker, and retired from Congress at the end of the term.

She gets stripped of that title only by a vote of the House and in no other way.
