Beyond basic fraud, early voting adds a whole different mess. What if one guy dies or is rendered incapacitated. Do I get to vote again, since it isn't election day yet?
Show up at the polls. Show your voter ID. Get a paper ballot. Fill it out. Turn it in to precinct workers of BOTH parties who keep a keen eye on the other guy.

The biggest problem is that they are trying to expand the fraud nationwide, and in so doing kill the electoral college and federalism in general.
We KNOW the cities are shitholes without fair elections, rife with unfair practices and manufactured votes. We know the far-left blue states are rife with fraud. So far, we have still had a "chance" to elect more conservative leaders.
If the midwest and south, and those patriots in blue states who depend on them to put some sanity at the top, fully perceive that their votes don't matter because of the fraud in the far left states (either becasue of the end of the electoral college, or the fact it will not matter if mail-in and ballot harvesting become the norm in PA, MI, WI, and NC, or god-forbid the illegals vote in TX) then the Republic will cease to exist in name as well as in fact.

Once that shit was passed in NJ, Dems flipped 15 out of 16 towns in my county from Republican run to Dem run. 15 out of 16.
Mail-in-voting has its place and its place is "sparingly". The military has to use mail-in-voting, as do people overseas.
But widespread mail-in-voting means there is no chain of custody and you could discard tens of thousands of ballots simply by originating zip code, and you could also fill out ballots for anyone else. I guarantee you I would get mail-in-voting ballots from the previous tenants who lived in my house, seeing as how I still get literally all their mail otherwise. Nothing stops me from opening up a ballot, filling it out, and mailing it in.
Should be more like 8 in10 at minimum but I'll take the 6 if it gives us the win!

I'm not worried that mail-in voting might increase fraud at all. I fully expect it to happen.
What are the ways to tell mail in voter fraud is happening? We in Oregon have had mail in voting for years and it seems ok. It does raise voter turnout, but I havent thought of fraud. Not saying fraud can't happen, but I'm not as pessimistic as others are. I do have an open mind about potential areas of fraud and would love to look into Oregon's systems for red flags.
I object to the form of the argument. When examining the security of any system, the correct question to ask is instead “how could someone defraud this system, and what measures are we taking to prevent such actions?” If we can’t prove mail-in voting is secure, we have to assume it’s not, that there’s a security hole that somebody could exploit, and that they probably are using it for malicious purposes
Oregon has been using it for awhile. Let me reframe my question; how can we prove its secure? We have a primary in a few weeks, that would be a great place to review data.
Did you even read my comment? My point is that you can’t prove anything is secure, the closest you can get is “we do not know of any vulnerabilities that could lead to a malicious actor gaining unauthorized access.”
I work in tech. We have the understanding there that you Do Not Trust Any User Input to be safe or correct. You always validate that it is formatted correctly before using it in server functions. Same thing goes for voting. Regardless of what scheme is used, assume the Side of Beef is working in every step of the process. How does your scheme prevent her from fucking with the numbers?

Even assuming zero cheating (which, come on, there's a lot of cheating) mail-in ballots are not secret ballots! Your boss, your union rep, your spouse, your parents can demand to see who you voted for. The whole idea is anti-democratic
I got bored, and came up with what I THINK would put this to bed.
All mail in votes have to have a fingerprint , a photocopy of state issued ID, 1 utility bill matching name and address, and a phone number they can be reached at during the week preceding the election.
All prints, names, addresses are entered into a database, any fingerprint duplicates and any non matches (think excons/government workers/illegals detained at least once already in system) go into a "don't get counted/Definitely get arrested pile".
All clean ones then go into a "hold". They are called by machine at the number they provided and asked a small series of yes/no (1 or 9) questions. Is "x" they "y" number of your social security number? Is "x" the third letter of your last name? Etc. No phone number can be associated with more than 3 votes. Anyone not home will be re-called by the machine. Anyone failing the test will have their ballot separated and investigated.
All those that pass will be opened and counted.
Of course, all of us pedes, and anyone justifiably concerned with providing the government a fingerprint, can just go to the FUCKING POLLS on election day and provide a goddamn I.D.
Shit, I figure this would COST the Dems at least a few million votes. No more ex-con/illegal/government (post office) employees mass filling out ballots. No more harvesting, mandatory voter ID, and our favorite President gets to offer a national mail in vote initiative.
