Where in the holy scriptures does Christ foretell a single infallible governing body for all believers and bestow the authority of our Sovereign upon it?
It’s a valid point and I wouldn’t deny the debt all Christendom owes to the Catholic Church. But I don’t see any scriptural basis for all believers owing their loyalty to a single unified Roman institution for all time, regardless of theological disagreements and differing interpretations of the Word. Splintering was inevitable.
I’ve heard the exact counter about the Catholic Church... False prophets and Satanic influence. I get it. Weak humans will misuse the Word of God for earthly goals. But perhaps as the post originally intended to illustrate, there is a more vile force to direct your ire than the half of all Christians who don’t kneel to the papacy.
