He often thinks out loud and skips connecting information, which leads some people (especially TDS sufferers) to claim he said something crazy. Best example is the "windmills cause cancer" story. To hear the TDS crowd tell it, that's exactly what he said -- windmills cause cancer. But if you listened to what he actually said he was talking about various negative effects of windmills, and mentioned the noise interfering with sleep. Right after that is when he mentioned "cause cancer". It's a well-established fact that insufficient or poor quality sleep can depress the immune system, and also that impaired immune function can contribute to the development of cancer. But he didn't spell out the connection -- interferes with sleep, which depresses the immune system, which in turn can increase the risk of developing cancer.
He wasn't being sarcastic though. He had to back peddle because people rabidly attacked him for thinking out loud and posing questions to a scientist in regard to potentially studying the use of 'disinfectants' to internally cleanse the body or parts of the body...'through injection OR' some other means...which would require doctors. He specifically said you'll need doctors for that.
Maybe did not or does not even know about this:
edit/ if he did know, and he may have, he may have even been told to pack peddle so idiots don't try this for themselves (muh fish cleaner 2.0). The media has made it hard for him to speak honestly about potential treatments because they are promoting hysteria.
He was totally aware of the UV light therapy thing. He was probably aware of this clinical trial too...he started the whole thing with something along the lines of "for those of you who are interested in that world'...
If it were ridiculous, Trump would not have said it. It's that simple. When you have doubts turn to your FAITH is enough for he leads for a REASON. That should be more than enough pede.
He just said he was being sarcastic. I think he was really just thinking out loud about the "internal" use of alcohol or bleach. He had likely just heard in passing about the very new experimental use of some UV light in conjunction with a ventilator, so he was probably serious when he asked about internal use of UV light being a possible treatment.
While some hand sanitizers use ethyl alcohol (same alcohol as in alcoholic beverages), most use isopropyl alcohol (commonly known as "rubbing alcohol"). The only medical treatments I've ever heard of using ethyl alcohol are for severe withdrawal symptoms from alcoholic beverage abuse, and for preventing kidney damage after ingestion of methylene glycol (antifreeze). Isopropyl alcohol is definitely for external use only!
Could be but many who are in touch with these things are enlightening us now about treatments that indeed mean injections but may be extreme. Chemo therapy for example is injecting "chem"icals to "clean" the body, exactly as Trump said. I think we can simply trust this man and he will guide us though we may not see it yet.
Chemotherapy is not about "cleaning the body". It's about killing cancer cells as selectively as possible, which unfortunately is not all that selective. You only get chemotherapy if you're definitely going to die pretty soon without it. No responsible physician is going to endorse injecting any kind of alcohol or bleach into the body as a treatment for COVID-19.
Trump was speculating about new technology treatments and his comments were taken out of context.

He literally just said he was asking a question sarcastically to see what the media would do. Its on his live signing ceremony just now.

Here is another one, using Hydrogen Gas. Not COVID specific, but mentions many conditions it can possibly treat.
