Dating a liberal, they keep telling me that Jesus would have been socialist/Communist if he was alive today. Communist doesn't support religion too. But, do you guys have any verses that talks about how Jesus was never a socialist/Communist?

Jesus, nor the apostles ever forced people to give up what they owned in order that it could be distributed to others.

That's the primary difference.

Exactly. Charity was always the choice of the giver. Charity is a fruit of the Holy Spirit, and falls under the categories of Love, and Kindness and Goodness, never compelled by force or threat of violence.

No he was NOT! Jesus of Nazareth NEVER contradicted Scripture (despite what ignorant people say) but here is a some verse for you-Proverbs 1:10-19 KJV.

Communism wears a cloak of judial Christian values to hide its greater goals. Yes the bible preaches:

Charity

Loving thy neighbor

And anti wealth sentiment (al la the camel the the eye of a needle passage, which has some greater context)

But it also has some very non communist ideas too

Being the best you can be

Family values

Finding god as higher than the state.

When debating a communist remember their founder, Marx, who routinely discards data that doesn't fit his theory. What the bible says doesn't matter. The context doesn't matter. The practice of worship doesn't matter. The out of context, misinterpreted line is all that matters if it helps them win

From a financial aspect, I think it's a moot point. Also, best of luck to you with socialist girl.

Luke 20:24-24

24 Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Caesar's.

25 And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's.

Christianity: Love your neighbor as yourself.

Marxism: Hate your neighbor for what he has.

Christianity: Don't envy

Marxism: Envy as much as possible

Christianity: Give freely and help the poor

Marxism: Steal from your neighbor and kill them if they resist

Christianity: You belong to God

Marxism: You belong to the state

Christianity: Give a good reason for your faith

Marxism: Kill the unbeliever

Christianity: We are all equal in christ

Marxism: We all belong to separate groups that must fight endlessly

Every brutal regime in the history of the world: Hey we killed some people.

Marxists: Hold my beer.

Christianity: righteousness is all that matters

Marxists: power is all that matters.

Jesus said that all the law and OT scriptures speak of Him. Given that...

One of the 10 Commandments "you shall not steal" implies private ownership of property.

Another from the OT law and repeated in the NT, "The man who doesn't work doesn't deserve to eat."

Paul, under the counsel of Jesus, instructed Christians to work to support themselves, and not leech off those around them and create animosity.
