I worked on a volunteer logging crew cutting, loading, and delivering cords to older folks in Oregon for a weekend. A local friend talked me into it while I was visiting. Good lord those logs were huge. They took me to watch cutting the second morning. I left in awe of people who do your job. In awe.
A contrived "holiday" like Arbor day would be more believable if I thought for a second that the government actually cared about trees.
Every time I go to Colorado, I look at forest management am reminded about how the federal government likes their trees like they like their babies... dead.
As a logger I appreciate America’s forests! Literally built this country.
