Most soldiers think their instructors during basic training are complete assholes. Eventually you realize they are playing a role and you see how dedicated they are and you are grateful they motivated you to achieve the goal of getting through the training. Yes, there are a few out there that are genuine assholes, but out of the 4 we had, I'd happily buy a steak dinner to 3 of them.
