Because nothing we saw in those videos has happened anywhere else in the world. They showed people being welded inside their apartments, young people screaming and coughing in the emergency rooms like they were being tortured to death, and people dropping dead in the streets and projectile vomiting. And all were suspiciously "leaked" at the same time, by random Chinese Twitter accounts.
And now that every country has the virus, we aren't seeing those videos anymore or hearing anything about it from them. They literally went quiet the moment everyone locked down.
It's almost as if they know the show is over, they did their job by scaring the entire world into destroying their economies, no need to keep the act going. They are masters at media control and manipulation, I believe they could have orchestrated this.
Great observation. Those videos got most of America to say, yeah, maybe we all should stay in for awhile. More Communist propaganda. They struck a major blow against us without firing a single shot. I’m not one to buy into “conspiracy theories” too easily, but you are making a good point here. We seem to have been hoodwinked, and those early videos did indeed frame this as a potential disaster.
I think so too, the videos were the only reason people started getting so scared. That would be a genius plan too. Get the public to force these laws on themselves by pushing out viral videos that looked like something out of a horror movie.

That's scary AF dude. I have no doubt China could be capable of this. And they are suspiciously quiet right now. And the scariest thing is that they've already spent years buying up all our media that I think it's too late to stop them. They are masters of manipulation, literally no one in the world can control as many people as they can. And it would make sense they would release a mild virus like this because they benefit from large populations of poor people, they don't want to wipe out millions of people. The more people they can control the more slave labor they have.

Covering what up though? How did they even know there was a new virus in the first place? The symptoms are basically the same as flu and cold symptoms and most are extremely mild, with a low death rate. I don't even know how they realized a new virus appeared so quickly. It had to be planned.
Truthfully, I think they knew mainly because they knew they had a bio-lab release of the virus. I feel reasonably confident it was man-made. This only reenforced the idea that it could be super-deadly, at least to the outside world. It turned out to be cheap Chinese junk like everything else they produce.

I don’t think they purposely released it. They just realized they had a major breach at their bio-lab. It explains why they were able to detect it relatively quickly, why they would be so adamant it came from bats sold at their wet market, and why the rest of the world was so scared of it.

The reason those videos were so shocking was because they didn't have access to better care, and thats the result of a highly infectious respiratory disease in a poor healthcare system. Out of fear of being arrested or disappeared, most people would hide they're symptoms. Thats why people were flooding the ER, and why people were passing out while standing. Anyone would pass out if their lungs stopped absorbing oxygen, but we assume the worst when seeing some guy crack his skull on the pavement.
The Chinese used their propaganda to make their shitty healthcare system look like a functional hospital being overrun by a plague, and we were stupid enough to believe in the plague before questioning China's health care.
This is actually a really good explanation. And may explain why these videos only came from China. I don't think there are other countries where you'd be arrested or killed for coming forward with an illness. Honestly this makes it so fucking sad if true. Definitely a possibility.

100% we are. At first I believed it came from the wuhan market and they tried to cover up for being irresponsible. But more and more evidence showed it came from the lab, and now after we know so much about the virus, nothing is adding up. It's turning into a total scam so why would they have reacted so harshly when other countries have not even quarantined at all and are doing perfectly fine? It just makes 0 sense to me. And if you bring any of this up you immediately get shut down as a crazy conspiracy theorist who thinks 5G causes corona virus and who wants innocent seniors to die.

Everyone was claiming it was this crazy deadly virus that destroys your body from the inside out and it just felt so far fetched. I never bought into it until we started going on lockdown. Wuhan has millions of people ? Its already a dirty place and they dont live the most sanitary. I don't know if I had the whuflu but I had a few days I was really short of breath, extremely fatigued and tingling in my forearms. I went to urgent care and was required to to use a mask, I felt like I was going to pass out with it on. I never was tested because I had no fever or cough.
But with china being so good at controlling their media, it's really suspicious how so many of those videos were leaked. A lot of them were video of police, I doubt the police would let someone film them. Or let them film in a hospital like that. Also some was security footage, who would have let them get access to it let alone post it online? And all the Twitter accounts were super weird accounts that didn't post anything else. Plus I haven't seen any footage of those types of symptoms from any other country.
See the reply in this post from u/Horse_Thief777 who posted a link to archived videos. I looked at quite a few. Based on the lack of context and my lack of understanding of the language, I am very skeptical as to how many of these were related to COVID19.

They took those drastic measures because they 1) knew it leaked from the Wuhan lab, 2) didn't know how deadly it was, and 3) tried to cover up.
If they were trying to cover it up, they did the world's shittiest job. And that's really out of character for China.
Yes, but they KNEW it came out of the lab (probably an accident because their work ethic and diligence suck). Since it was a virus under development, they didn't know it's true strength and they didn't know how it would act in the wild (fatality rate unknown). They had a choice. Watch to see if their people died like flies. Or, do a mass quarantine and disinfection program and hope for the best. If they did the latter, they could always claim to be the good guys just trying their best and use that manipulation for propoganda later when the SHTF worldwide. And that's what they did. BTW, they don't give a shit if they kill their own people. But it is harder to wave a magic propoganda wand and make mass casualties disappear. Keep in mind there is a big difference between the people of China and their government. Most professional Chinese people (doctors, nurses, etc.) really do care for their patients. Also, remember that there is a thin veneer of civilization in China. Most of their educated, emerging middle class live on their East coast, about 300 million of them. The other 900 million of them are dirt poor, living in villages without electricity and running water, breathing air so dirty it kills more of them than smoking does. The government fears those 900 million if they ever rise up. Unleashing a virus on them would probably trip the wire.
Actually, these Wuhan videos of chaotic hospital scenes, and bodies in hospital corridors and in refrigerated trucks, which were leaked to the world by brave Chinese citizens, were on the internet in mid-December. Westerners who circulated them were promptly labeled as purveyors of fake news, "racists", "xenophobes", etc.
Perhaps eating things that nobody else on the planet will touch made them experience it worse than anyone. Things looked pretty bad in Ecuador too though.
It’s likely that virus in China is a different mutation then what we are experiencing in the states. Another point to consider is the population density in Wuhan vs us localities per square mile plays a huge roll in transmission

I do not attribute honesty to the Chinese, but they dealt with something entirely new, and there was no information at all as to why people were dying.

New testing that came out last week is showing it at a .05 percent death rate and the seasonal flu is .1% Doctors are veterans? LOL.. let's not go there. Veterans don't make 200K a year
