If he stepped down, it would provide some much needed credibility to the party, which so many are on the brink of leaving.
They'd still, legitimately, lose to President Trump with whoever took his place, but it wouldn't destroy the party as Biden will do.
Their problem is, if they use force, they still have an ongoing election.

Either way, as a bad a candidate as Biden would be... Bernie would be able to rally the violent activists, the intellectual Leftists, and the Snowflake Brigade ... right off the cliff. The entire party gets dragged too far to the left.
Why? Because Trump's not an ideolog of the Right. He ... would take a half-step to the left and double the Union pay in America (or something) that would end up shattering the party completely. There's be the Trump Party and the Republicans and some REEEEing in the wilderness.
