My ex was a nurse sone of her coworkers were retarded. It doesn't take much honestly.

26
Proudly_Deplorable 26 points ago +27 / -1

Nurses are some of the worst at backstabbing their coworkers. I don't think there are any two groups of workers any worse at bragging about how good and self-sacrificing they are than nurses and teachers. And I know some that are really great people and great at what they do, but the rest give them a bad reputation.

No surprising they are both female dominated careers

18

There are assholes everywhere. This is one of the worst crimes of the left, is painting everyone from a given group as exactly the same, whether good or bad.

3
Redditcensorsyouandi 3 points ago +5 / -2

I agree wholeheartedly and its troubling to see so much of it happening here in this thread. You can judge a person by their character and actions but should not berate an entire group because of the actions of 0.000001% of them.

The utter arrogance of "healthcare professionals" never ceases to amaze me. They are no smarter than you or I, they simply paid for a more expensive piece of paper.

2
Rainspa 2 points ago +2 / -0

Or not, in the case of Bill Gates.

2
Wyndthough 2 points ago +3 / -1

Well I mean....it is actually quite difficult to become a doctor and requires way more than just money. Source: I did premed and decided it wasn't for me, it was difficult stuff.

16
Vegans4Trump 16 points ago +20 / -4

I'm starting to think it's time we abandon mainstream healthcare. We apparently can't depend on them to do shit anymore and they don't even know how to educate people to take care of their immune system so we don't catch viruses in the first place. The whole system is corrupt and needs to be torn down

4
Proudly_Deplorable 4 points ago +8 / -4

I don't think you can blame mainstream healthcare workers for people eating like hogs and taking no responsibility for their own health, then developing diseases that cause them to die earlier.

5
Vegans4Trump 5 points ago +5 / -0

That's true but doctors usually don't help patients change their lifestyle to get well, they just write them a prescription

5
cluckingducks 5 points ago +6 / -1

Nurses in this study had a rate of overweight and obesity that is similar to the general US adult population (Ogden et al. 2006). https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2760042/

Well, they eat like hogs, so it's not like they are setting an example.

4
Donald4thewin 4 points ago +4 / -0

The healthcare system does little to advocate nutrition. It’s a business. And have you seen hospital food? White bread and jello. It’s a joke.

3
TonsOfSalt 3 points ago +3 / -0

It doesn't help that medicare/medicaid reimbursement is tied to vague notions of customer satisfaction, so the staff just end up appeasing morbidly obese patients with muh genetic cundishions

3
Rugar22 3 points ago +4 / -1

Agreed, that's the people fault for not taking care of themselves.

5

4 people in my family were misdiagnosed by 4 different docs in the last 13 years. 2 died because of it! 2 others almost died! Docs are NOT Gods! I stay far away from docs except for my annual lady parts exams!

3
Redditcensorsyouandi 3 points ago +6 / -3

You're right. Tons of intelligent quality and caring nurses out there. Sad to see them all be shit on like some in this thread have done. Generalizing is the main weapon of the ignorant left.

35
sustainable_saltmine 35 points ago +36 / -1

all this and many of them get this big-headed sense of entitlement. "Well I'M a healthy care worker, worship me"
they expect applause, though they act shy and modest about it but live for it. They expect free shit, discounts at restaurants, donations to them personally, and all sorts of pats on the back. There are plenty who just show up and do their job because it's what they chose to do and are professional the whole time, then there are others who have this undeserved sense of smugness about it

14
Vegans4Trump 14 points ago +15 / -1

Exactly we all know that one nurse/cna in the family that acts like this. We gotta start taking care of our bodies really good so we don't ever have to come into contact with these people.

The Twerking tiktoks were so much worse. Also the one where bored nurses put up disco lights and walked a runway in scrubs, so unprofessional.
This titanic one is pretty tame

HockeyMom4Trump 16 points ago +17 / -1

No self awareness. It’s a bad look.

28
FitOfficial 28 points ago +29 / -1

I work in healthcare IT. I once saw a nurse wear a shirt that said "if you save one life you're a hero, if you save many you're a nurse".

Had the same feeling as this chick for years.

22
Magamom2020 22 points ago +23 / -1

Can’t stand that. I was having this conversation with my husband the other day. I’m a nurse myself and the crap I’m seeing lately and have over the years it’s annoying and I can’t stand the self righteous behavior. It’s not like every day you’re having code blues and having to save people’s lives and when you do have a code it’s a team of people and on top of that it’s your Fking job. Sick of the bs from these brats.

15
Vegans4Trump 15 points ago +16 / -1

Same here my family member is a nurse and she says we all have to shelter in place because she had 2 patient code over corona virus and is always saying "we always have 10 people at a time" like no duh you work at a hospital, only the seriously Ill go there obviously you are going to see super sick people. You are not seeing the millions of others who had zero, mild symptoms or just had to lay in bed for a few days

LOL, well she's actually pretty healthy but she deals with heart attack patients a lot so the fact she isn't out here trying to ban cheeseburgers is hypocritical

14
sustainable_saltmine 14 points ago +15 / -1

yep. nurses have such inflated egos about what they do. I'm sure most are extreme professionals but the ones who would goof around in the hospital are definitely not

16
Vegans4Trump 16 points ago +17 / -1

They do and my mom works at a hospital as a lowly assistant and shes always coming home upset because the nurses treat anyone who makes less money like shit. They talk to my mom like garbage and think they have the right to do do because they are more important

26

Their 15 minutes ended middle of March. Anyone still posting this garbage is probably about to be furloughed.

20
ShrikeDeCil 20 points ago +20 / -0

Recognize they aren't all real nurses

Clean scrubs, low "photo count"

Videos of some arriving with the media.

4
Magamom2020 4 points ago +4 / -0

Most likely night shift nurses

14
ShrikeDeCil 14 points ago +14 / -0

There's at least one good video of a male "nurse" waiting at a corner for the light with two other people. When they decide to go, he pulls his mask up, hauls his sign out of his pack, and blocks traffic (that was already stopped for the light). The other people break to two other angles to get good pictures. Then they all wander off together. Not to the hospital.

Scrubs are cheap, it's not tough to "Be a nurse" for this.

6
Magamom2020 6 points ago +6 / -0

I believe that! Scrubs can be found for sale at goodwill.

17
Maxmax 17 points ago +18 / -1

Just like teachers. We are supposed to say they are the greatest, smartest, work the hardest, etc. Bullshit. It’s a job like all the rest.

13
HockeyMom4Trump 13 points ago +13 / -0

Oh, I know there are plenty of teachers thrilled that school is online the rest of the academic year. One was just bragging she basically has six months off this year with full pay. Ugh.

5
Proudly_Deplorable 5 points ago +5 / -0

Smartest......lol. There are some who are definitely smart, hard-working and could have done other things with their lives. I admire and support them because today it's not easy being a good teacher with all the crazy curricula, social promotion and lack of discipline in schools. Then there are the many who prove the saying that "those who can, do; those who can't, teach."

17
Magamom2020 17 points ago +17 / -0

Yep. I’m a nurse myself and I feel the same way OP does. The narcissism is ridiculous.

7
45squared 7 points ago +7 / -0

As a nurse, I’ve been saying the same thing too. I’m embarrassed by this crap and how many of my fellow nurses in real life have bought into the panic and thrown critical thinking & common sense right out the window! We can take this seriously, but calling for a continued complete and utter lockdown is asinine.

15
amopheldupsidedown 15 points ago +15 / -0

What if these stupid videos are really a way for nurses to spread the word that hospitals are empty, and this whole fiasco is a farce? 2D chess

3
mightyclaw 3 points ago +3 / -0

A similar thought occurred to me; this is such a dumb thing to do, and took such effort by many people, that it almost seems...desperate.

1
Redditcensorsyouandi 1 point ago +1 / -0

A lot of hospitals dont have anywhere near the influx of patients that cnn told them to expect. Do I think the video is worthy of eye rolls? Yea. Do I think its harmless? Yea.

Bad eggs can be found everywhere, even in the medical field. Some of them might not even be bad, but were raised on bad information and influence.

The last two doctors I trusted were this ancient heart expert that properly diagnosed and recommended the right medicine for my costochondritis (lung inflammation, hurt like hell for 2 weeks and younger lung specialist failed to diagnose) and my pediatrician who took care of me since I was little and even when I was an adult with amoebiasis.

Other doctors I've seen were recommending ineffective treatments that I gave fair shakes to and some even had pretty bad side effects. In the end, I just fixed up my bad diet, got some sun and did more exercise and hadn't had problems since. I undid a pretty bad case of gout on my own just with eating right and a bunch of cherries whereas the doctor's recommended medicines had me bleeding in the wrong places.

There are good doctors out there, but I didn't have much luck finding more than a handful in my life so far.

10
Proudly_Deplorable 10 points ago +10 / -0

I've found that, generally, older doctors seem to be better informed, more likely to listen and actually analyze your symptoms, and less likely to go by rote memorized material.

Just a thought but maybe all first responders should refrain from exposing themselves and others rather than the other way around.

It might have been smarter for municipalities to lease hotels and house nurses, doctors, police, other health care workers, etc.

Require them to stay away from public transit, their houses, stores, and other places were they could be infected. Provide them with meals and van transit to their workplaces.

Many first responders are already social distancing from their families and this would reduce exposure for all.

boomerbutnotOKBoomer 7 points ago +8 / -1

Amy, I'm with you. I have some nurses in my family whom I love and respect. They are hard-working, dedicated, really smart, take good care of themselves, and don't go out crowing about how wonderful they are.

These tiktok nurses on the other hand... Lord help us. First of all, the only dancing they should be doing is when this whole mess is over. This actually tells me it's not as serious as people say. Yes, people are sick and dying, just like people get sick and die every single year from things like the Flu and TB. But if they are dancing, they know something we don't know.

Oh and while I'm on a rant... please tell me how nurses, who are handling our health issues, can be overweight smokers? How does that work? Did you learn nothing in nursing school? Why is it that there are so many fat nurses who smoke? Makes no sense whatsoever.

Always been a Naturopathic person. I'd rather get advice from a healthy professional who only gives me prescriptions to be filled at a compound pharmacy than someone who gives me treatments they got free from a Big Pharma annual party

7
Vegans4Trump 7 points ago +8 / -1

So many nurses are the same fucking type. I come from a family of hospital workers including 2 nurses and they act like they are gods gift to the world. I also worked at a hospital before and the nurses were all the same, extremely vain, super into drama and act like they are princesses and deserve everything they want. A lot of them are single moms and only got into the profession because it made a lot of money and didn't require a degree. Obviously not all nurses are like this but the profession just attracts a certain type of person. They are LOVING this attention right now.

7
SurrenderFreeman 7 points ago +8 / -1

We have a saying where I work (I am not a nurse but my employment has APRN’s, RN’s, LPN’s & MD’s): “If I am dying, drag me to the street and call my husband.” There are Maybe 2-3 nurses I would allow near me where I work.

Also: There is TONS of research & data discussing incivility in the nursing profession.

3
45squared 3 points ago +3 / -0

It’s the newer nurses—between our culture in general (entitlement, narcissism, etc.) and however the nurses are being taught in school these days, they come out thinking they know everything and are smug as shit! I was taught (I’m a nurse) that I still knew nothing leaving school and a sense of humility was instilled in us. Not so much anymore ☹️

NotAllNurses

I’m a nurse. I too am disgusted by there videos. They’re unprofessional, and in bad taste. As with any profession, there’s 3 types of nurses:

  1. High-speed, Low-drag hammerheads that work in the demanding, high acuity units (ER, OR, ICU). This type actually saves your life, and prevents bad things before they happen.

  2. The committed, but clerk types. They work in the clinics and low acuity areas. They do a good job caring for patients and the good ones know when to call for help if something bad is happening. They shovel a lot of paper.

  3. The Care Bears. Low skills, unknowledgeable, borderline dangerous, but they CARE! more than anybody. They’re the first ones to tell you they’re a nurse, if you didn’t figure it out by their “Nurses are the Best!” Pin or stupid medical tattoo (usually a poor ecg tracing with a heart or some shit.) They spend a lot of time decorating the unit/office, bringing in baked goods, etc. imagine if Karen or Felecia went to nursing school. They HATE the other two types and attack them every chance they get. These are the one’s who say “Hey! Let’s all make a TicTok video!”

3
quigonkenny 3 points ago +5 / -2

Well, in their defense, a lot of them aren't nurses, and the rest need something to do while pretending that their hospitals are overrun.

This is not to discount those who work at hospitals that are overrun, but we're seeing more evidence every day that there are a lot fewer of those than the news would have us believe...

I am a MD and 50-70% of nurses suck. Also, many have an inferiority complex because they are not MDs so they compensate with ridiculous actions like these.

1
ProudWhiteMan 1 point ago +4 / -3

What would you expect for a work force that is mostly women. Don't get me wrong I love women but give them the opportunity to get attention and they'll jump on it.

Not one bit surprising they would do this in the middle of a pandemic at hospitals with hospital materials and have the excuse, it's to relief stress ready to go.

Nope you're doing for social media likes and attention, blowing off steam is the excuse to justify this behavior.

1
Magaman_2 1 point ago +2 / -1

12
sustainable_saltmine 12 points ago +13 / -1

really? you dont see a problem with healthcare workers who are supposedly short on supplies and working such long shifts complaining about being stressed out, witnessing death by the hour and then wasting equipment that has to be changed or cleaned to do stupid shit like this on the clock?

-17
Redditcensorsyouandi -17 points ago +5 / -22

Fuck Amy and her generalizations. There are a ton of good nurses out there for every bad one. This kind of shit is exactly how they demonize cops too. What bullshit to see here. Who gives a shit if some stupid ass named Amy is going to stop "supporting" all nurses over "bad optics". I guarantee her support was ethereal and vapid to begin with, so medical professionals wont miss it one bit.

Edit: cant believe the nurse hate is so rampant here. This is not T_D that I remember. You shitlords want to tear down Nurses while most of you have no idea what a 12 hour shift feels like caring for people. There are narcissistic pricks everywhere, just look at the dipshits in this thread who are generalizing all nurses so gleefully. Trump would not agree with you absolute morons on this. So a few people in scrubs did something goofy in their down time. Now pathetic losers online assume its the height of all thats wrong with healthcare. Get fucking real. Grow up and realize this little video didnt hurt anyone. How pathetic and disappointing to see such shallow and ignorant opinions on the best place on the internet.

This is what the left does. Sees one video of people, then immediately attacks the entire group. Theres a couple rational replies here but for the most part it sounds like pissy unemployed losers that just like to put others down.

Source: Die hard Trump supporter since the beginning, cant wait to vote for him again. Also have many nurses in my family. Its a very hard and stressful job. Especially when people are dying that cant be saved. For fucks sake, be better people.

16
bassword_is_benis 16 points ago +18 / -2

Get real. That's a false equivalency. Unprofessionalism should be pointed out. It should also be condemned in a profession that deals with life and death on a daily basis, especially during a global pandemic.

-2
Redditcensorsyouandi -2 points ago +1 / -3

Id be curious if any of you who are clutching your pearls over this harmless stunt are actually in the medical field or are just judgemental pricks that like to hold others to a higher standard while knowing fuck all about what must be sacrificed to be a nurse.

Keeping morale high is very important. Sleep deprivation is a real thing and that makes people think dumb stunts like this are way funnier than they are. This video deserves an eye roll, not rounding up the pitchfork wielding townsfolk for fucks sake.

Speaking in such blanket terms to demonize massive groups of people is the main weapon of the left. How embarrassing this entire post is, also has nothing to do with Trump anyway.

What a collection of thin skinned turds here giving their bitter yelp reviews of hospitals they never went to and nurses that never cared for them. We shouldn't need cops to protect us, we shouldn't ever depend on the government to protect us. As for nurses, we have privatized healthcare and nurses are proving a service we pay for. Redditcensorsyouandi 0 points ago +1 / -1

You keep saying "the" nurses when you know very well that it is only "some" nurses that are making these stupid videos that trigger you so badly. You cant pass judgement on all nurses because a few annoyed you. That is leftist shit. Its really not that complicated.
