We have a saying where I work (I am not a nurse but my employment has APRN’s, RN’s, LPN’s & MD’s): “If I am dying, drag me to the street and call my husband.”
There are Maybe 2-3 nurses I would allow near me where I work.
Also: There is TONS of research & data discussing incivility in the nursing profession.
It’s the newer nurses—between our culture in general (entitlement, narcissism, etc.) and however the nurses are being taught in school these days, they come out thinking they know everything and are smug as shit! I was taught (I’m a nurse) that I still knew nothing leaving school and a sense of humility was instilled in us. Not so much anymore ☹️
