Good question. An honest media would be essential, but propaganda is not only non-essential, it is the work of our enemy. Traitors.

Problem is who gets to say which media is honest and which is propaganda.

It's pretty obvious, once you learn to go back to the original documents and videos. That's why CNN, the New York Times, and The Washington Post, plus all of the media that relies on their garbage, get sandblasted, here.

Of course, now we have YouTube censoring a genuine research business website at the behest of a New York Times "reporter." That is beyond anything that should ever happen, even in China.

There is such a thing as objective proof of lying by our media.

What I'm getting at, is the government has no business saying this media group is truth and essential, and this other group is bullshit and needs to shut down. You realize that would backfire in like one administration change right?

Well, like our glorious guvnah (/s) did in Michigan, just shut down the opinion segments. (She didn't shut down the media, just limited what could be bought in the stores that were allowed to stay open.) All shows that are even remotely opinion, off the air. So dumb and dumber (Joe/Mika), Madcow, ... oh heck, just about all of the alphabet soup of idiots would be off the air.

There are those in government that would claim that propaganda is more essential than media.

Those people are the enemy.
